When doing your laundry, do you use fabric softener and dryer sheets? Do you see a big difference when you do?

Sometimes I think I am the only person that doesn't use either. :dk:

Liquid as everything but socks go out on the line to dry.  I don't add any to my towels/socks load.  Everything else gets it.  I HATE shocks and also use alot of hand cream lol.

I don't use either - why put even more strain on the environment than I already do with laundry detergent?

I use Bounce dryer sheets. I do notice the difference without it. I don't use liquid softener in the wash

We got a new dryer a year ago and I've had to use softener sheets since then, it's super-static for some reason. I use the unscented, and don't use them for night clothes or bedding or towels, and although almost everything we own is cotton, even the elastic in socks and underwear seem to generate static.

I've read that you can make your own dryer sheets by adding a couple of drops of essential oil to a muslin cloth and throw that in as a dryer sheet, but I don't want the scents so I haven't tried that.

I do use unscented dryer sheets, otherwise the pet hair doesn't come off in the dryer and pills up into little balls that stick all over the clothes. I would prefer not to but I don't know what else to do about that. I also put white vinegar in the rinse cycle to get the soap residue out and have dryer balls to soften things up. But that static. . .

I use dryer sheets. With a large dog with fairly long fur, I have to or else the clothes are full of static. I sometimes buy liquid fabric softener but mainly just use it on bed sheets and blankets to make them smell better. That's also because of my dog because she can get very smelly and loves to be on my bed.

I too use dryer sheets and notice a big difference. I never used to care until Dana and I got together. He insists on them.

I actually use both a fabric softener in the washer AND a dryer sheet in the dryer!! I do LOVE the smell of the clothes, bedding and towels. I do think it makes the clothes softer too. :wavey:

I only use the dryer for towels and sheets usually, and I do use dryer sheets. I try to remember to use fabric softener when doing laundry, but usually forget.

We use a Bounce dryer bar. And yes, with some of my clothes, I do see a difference, especially with static cling when I'm washing some of my sweaters for work.

Agree, I do use Vinegar in place of fabric softener though. Don't own a dryer but wouldn't use dryer sheets if I did
