Here's my newest mama cat. She doesn't have a name yet, I still need to think about it a bit! :)

She came from Kentucky (I live in MN). Apparently she was on the euth list there and the lady from my humane society got a distress call about her and agreed to take her in. So she just arrived yesterday. I have no idea who drove her here or what her life was like before she ended up pregnant and on a euth list... But she sure is the sweetest girl. She's got a bit of a cold... she was sneezy and congested in her nose but she's on antibiotics which will hopefully kick in soon. Here's some pics!

And this one just makes me laugh... When she gets purring a lot she sticks her tongue out!! Isn't that so cute??

I can't wait to see how many kittens she pops out. She isn't very big, so I'm thinking there's only a couple in there. I was able to feel them move, so I'm sure it's less than two weeks to go.

She is absolutely gorgeous!! I LOVE when cats stick out there tongue, it always makes me smile :) good job fostering her, so sad that people just abandon cats like this. She looks very happy to feel safe and loved :)

Pretty young lady. She could pass for an russian blue (pet quality because of the medaljong) if it not were of the eyes. Stunning color but NOT the deep green... The third eyelid are visible, so she prob has some infection on her. Possibly that sneazing you already know off.

Tx a lot!

Good luck!

Yea the third eyelid is a little worrisome to me. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon!

What a beauty.  I live in the same state and my adopted dog came from Kentucky as well.  Apparently there is a group there that tries to arrange transport for animals to come to shelters up here as they have high kill rates and less resources down there.

I also have a skinny pregnant stray about 6+ weeks :)

My concern with the inner eyelids would be herpes or chlamydia.

It can be almost anything. It is often an infection, not seldom worms. Here she does sneeze, have a cold of some sort. Which is explanation enough.  Hopefully it is this.

Yea she doesn't have any discharge or anything out of her eyes. I think the eyelids are probably related to her cold.

AND she's got worms, ear mites and fleas. LOVELY! Haha... She doesn't look sick though does she? She's a very pretty girl. And my most affecionate mama yet.

Here's the belly!

And a top view of the belly.

Question about the fleas. I've only found like maybe 6 on her and that was yesterday. Today when I combed her I didn't find any. Is it enough to just flea comb her or do I have to go out and buy some Frontline??

BEAUTIFUL girl, and thank you so much for helping her! Can't wait to see pics of the wee ones.
You might want to pick up some Revolution, which will treat fleas, worms and mites and y vet has oked it for pregnant fosters. You may also want to start adding some L-Lysine to her food, which will help suppress the kitty cold virus and is available from the vitamin section in most drugstores.

Okay I'll look into the Revolution.. thanks!

And I already do have L-Lysine for her. Only problem is she LOVES dry food but doesn't eat much wet. So I've mixed the lysine into her wet food but she's not eating too much of it. I went to the pet store today and picked out a bunch of different flavors so hopefully I'll be able to find one that she likes!

You can actually sprinkle it over the dry food as well!
I do so not only with my fosters, but with my own kitties so they don't get sick. It's tasteless, so it shouldn't be an issue for her. Good luck!

She's quite stunning! It was nice to see that her eyes have improved and she must be feeling better. :)

I used revolution on my latest foster about a week before she gave birth. She had worms and fleas.

If she will let you,  syringe a bit of olive oil in her ears and give them a massage and wipe out. If

she has mites bad, there is often alot of caked crud in there that drives them mad.

Can't wait to see her babies :)

This is her fourth day of panacur (she's on a five day course) and is still having diarrhea. I haven't seen anymore worms in a couple days (the first two days they were actually coming out of her bum.... YUCK!!!) After this course is done she'll be on pyrantel for three days. I'm so ready for the diarrhea to be gone! I'm sure she is too. Her bum was looking pretty sore and red.

Her sneezing and runny nose have greatly improved, although she still has the third eyelids showing sometimes.. She's still on the antibiotic for another few days though. And for the ear mites we have been doing the olive oil in the ears and wiping them out. We've gotten some nasty stuff out of them! She has scabs behind her ears from scratching so much. :(

I'm determined to get this girl in tip top shape before she has her babes! Luckily, I have the next four days off of work and no big plans so I'll be home most of the time with her... I hope she has them while I'm there!

Suggest treating your home for fleas, if you haven't already.

She's beautiful!
