Hi -
This board has been great support for me whenever anything has happened with Finn or Darci.
So I just wanted to give anyone with Heart Murmur diagnosis good news. Finny, my Maine Coon boy was diagnosed with a Heart Murmur last April. Broke my heart I imagined the worse. I loved my 6 year old baby and I needed him in my life. I cried for a week until he could get in to the cardiologist. I haunted this site, the Maine Coon site and the internet in general for information. Finally he went in for his ecg. He was diagnosed with a 2/3 hear murmur and one of the left lower walls at upper limit of normal. No medication but we would not know for a year if it would progress.
Today we went in for a check up because it was time and because Finn needs Dental work. The doctor did anesthesia work up and a full ecg - all good . Nothing changed! He said he is doesn't need to see him for 2 years just to check. The cardiologist said he does not fear it will progress and I have a healthy BIG boy (15 pounds - of Main Coon fur) - except for the tooth.
I jokingly call Finny - the Jamaican vacation - he costs as much as one - but I love him more than one - so he is a bargain.
In summary - if you get a beautiful baby diagnosed with a hear murmur all is not lost - try to remain calm and you may have a great story like mine.
Kisses to all the babies and mommies who love them!
Erin
