I actually prefer a desk top because it is easier on the back. BUT :lol3: I used my laptop all the time for TCS - sitting on the couch with the TV on too.
No question about it, DESKTOP. For hours every day of serious work, longevity, and durability, a desktop is still the only way to go. I've built mine out and added DRAM and an external harddrive. You can, too: http://www.crucial.com to test for/buy DRAM, and http://www.newegg.com for all the peripherals you could ever need.
Desktop here. I HATE my husband's laptop. Of course, maybe if I used it enough to get used to it or had a mouse to use it wouldn't be that bad. I just don't like change and I'm used to my trusty (if temperamental desktop).
when I lived with my parents, it was a macbook since my bedroom was too small and no room for a desktop.
When I moved out and my laptop broke down, I decided on an imac, and I love it. I don't think I will own a laptop anymore. It's just so much easier to do my work on and play games
