hi.

i have 2 cats one male one female. male is about a year and a half old and the other is about 10 months old. my male cat is constant meowing and i mean like meow meow with a second gab. its not his usaual meow its the first time i have really heard him other than when i say food he will occasionally meow.

i am worried also as there are new cats on the block. in the last 2 days i have seen about  5 - 6 different cats outside my window, never seen this before and i have lived here for 4 years. they are cats i have never seen before, all adult looking cats.

i went on holiday and asked my neighbour to let the cats in and out and feed them. i came home one morning early at about 9 oclock to find a black and white stray looking cat curled up outside my window. my neighbours came and knocked my door to say that this cat has been there over 12 hours crying for my 10 month old to come out as she was in the window.

worried my cats love there food and i made a chicken dinner loads of meat left over so i put it down for them..... 4 hours and still not even touched. they love chicken so worried what could this be? why is there such a increase in cats around my house. and sniffing everywhere, i mean like any closer and the would be licking the floor.

one is a bengal and the other one is a black and white one don't know the breed.

thanks.

Jamie.

Is your female spayed?  If not, she needs to be ASAP!  That may be why all the boy kitties are coming around.

I think your female kitty is most likely in heat. Has she done anything else out of the ordinary lately? Is she becoming more affectionate and does she seem uncomfortable? These are all signs of being in heat. The boy kitties sense her mating call and are crying at the window to attract her. There is a simple answer to heat, and that is spaying her.

Cookie was spayed at about ten months, and the vet said it was the prime time for the surgery. Good luck! :D

Glad to hear you are taking them in - they will be much happier after the surgeries and will settle down. Much luck :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Just wanted to mention that if your cats are 1.5 years and 10 months and not fixed, the female will be pregnant in no time if she isn't already. You need to keep them seperated completely until their appointment. All the time.
