Hello everyone

I'm new here, I just found your site researching about what bit my cat.

Here are some pics:

The swelling began about 5 days ago, 2 days ago we took it to the vet, who said that was bitten by a spider most likely and gave him amoxiciln (antibiotic) and something for the pain. He said he'll be alright and though my Pansas (my cat) seems to be eating a bit more now, I'm still worried.

I'm posting the pics in hope knows what bit him or what's to be done about it.

P.S. Please bear my English, I'm from Mexico.

Could very well be a spider.  About all you can do is keep an eye on it and contact the vet if it doesn't appear to be healing.

We have a number of Spanish-speaking members, and CoolCat lives in Mexico, too.

I am sorry something bit your cat. Does he live inside or outside.  I hope he heals well.  By the way, welcome to the Cat Site.  You can make lots of friends here and learn alot about cats.

Hi. :wavey:

Is he an outdoor or indoor kitty? If he's outdoor, he could have got into a fight with another cat and gotten bit. My feral Lucky always has this happening and he gets abscesses on the site of the bite. Abscesses have to be drained, most of the time. After that the cat is normally all better.

Hello. I have a similar issue. Saturday morning I left for work and my cat was her normal playful self. I got him that night and she didn't meet me at the door as usual so I started to call for her. She was curled up behind the front door and very lethargic. When I picked her up she was soooooo hot. Obviously had a temp. She barely moved all night and Sunday morning I noticed she was hurting on her stomach. I call the vet and she said for me to give a quarter of a baby aspirin to help with fever and pain. She ate a little after I did this but not much. So today I notice there is a swollen area on her left side, kind of on her stomach area -when I touch this spot she growls and tries to bite me. So I lay her down and pull back her hair and there's a small puncture wound with clear liquid coming out. I have NO idea what could have bit her. She never goes outside but we do have a sun room that's completely enclosed. I put peroxide and neosporin on it and she doesn't seem to have a fever anymore. Does anyone have suggestions on what else I should do and what possibly could have bit her???? I found her on the side of the road when she was about 4 weeks old and nurses her back to health. I'd die if anything happened to her.
