hello everyone! im a cat lover from Croatia. right now I got three adult cats, two males (Tom, 1 year and Ted, 2 years old) and female (Sivka, 5-6 years old) with two kittens (about a week old). Sivka is Mother of both Ted nad Tom. I came on forums because of problem with older male, Ted. when he was 1 year old he dissapeard and wasn't here for a whole year. We thought he was dead, but few months ago he suddenly reappeard fine and healty. (He even got his old collar). Now there are problems with him again. He goes on a field across a road all the time and just meows. We don't know what's with him. Also, I plan on giving away two kittens when they are old enough (already got the adopters) and get myself a female kitten from a friend (the kittens there are two weeks old right now). What do you think, is that smart? and do you know what's wrong with my cat?

Welcome to TCS!

I'm not sure why Ted is meowing in that direction.  Maybe ask on our Behavior Forum? (http://www.thecatsite.com/f/5/behavior)  My Mom's cat would meow at the wall when there was a mouse in it; but we could hear that ourselves too.  And that is different from meowing at a field where it could be anything I guess.  Sorry I'm not more help for that one!

As for taking on another kitty after you are able to place the 2 kittens you have; I would say its up to you as long as you can take care of them (vet expenses as well as food and what not).  I'm not sure if things in Croatia are the same as the US; but generally on TCS we are very pro spay and neuter.  There are just so many unwanted kitties here in the US.  So that would be another cost to consider.
You might find more advice on that in the other sections as well.  Like the Cat Health one.  I do believe I have read that spayed/neutered cats do not have some illnesses that others have.  And live longer lives.  I think it also depends on how much outdoor time they get too; their vaccinations, etc.  Others know more than me on that I'm sure!  But I know for my 2 I choose to keep them only indoors, keep their shots updates and they have been spayed since they were about 4 or 5 months I think.  (They are 7 now!)

I'll post on behavior forum, I hope I'll get answers there.

as for costs of another kitten, it's no problem to me. The kitten is beautiful, and if nobody adopts her she's probably going to become a stray and that would be such a shame.  but when it comes to spay and neuter, im not going to do that as my parents would never let it because they don't want to spend money only to have a fat cat (that's how they see it). Ted would be spayed already if they allowed it. All my cats live outside, and only sleep in house when it's cold and snowing or raining and they never got any illiness, not even flees as they all have flee collars.. Also, kittens are not problem either.
