So for those that dont know, my husband and I took in a stray cat last week that turned out to be pregnant. I made an appt for this friday with our vet but as a favor my husband's good friend came over this evening who is actually a veterinarian for the US Army. He looked at her and confirmed her pregnancy, and said he cant exactly pin point gestation however since he isnt familiar with her and her "pre pregnancy" condition. All he said was she is nearing the end and that she looks completely healthy (outward appearance only of course. We are very much aware that she needs to be dewormed ASAP). I told him the story behind her being abandoned and how she was only homeless for about a week...he said "thats probably why she isnt to far gone". Anyhow (sorry I'm rambling---I'm just so excited that she is doing alright), yesterday I gave her a good bath in the blue Dawn and a complete brush out with a flea comb so she is now in my house and flea/tick free
Thank goodness! We found about 5-6 fleas on her. It is REALLY hot where I live so I couldnt bear to leave her out on the porch any longer. I made her up a nesting spot in the corner of my laundry room yesterday and at first she really loved it. She slept in it for about 6-7 hrs but now she is hiding in dark corners of my closet, way underneath my bed, behind my son's dresser, in the bathtub and showers, ect. She has only really scratched at the surfaces a few times (I ready thats a big nesting symptom) and she isnt very vocal unless I walk past her and then she cries and cries and follows me for the next 10 mins. She has doubled in size in the last few days I have had her and she is CONSTANTLY walking in circles on end just looking lost. I just wanted to know if all of this normal? I'm sure most of it is but is this behavior they display before labor or....? Below are pics I took of her today, sorry they arent very good. Any feedback would be awesome

Oh and if anyone is curious: Yes I do still plan to keep my appt on Friday

She still needs some work but she is coming along...and just as sweet as can be. I'm falling for her fast

The walking around and crying could be labour nearing, she could be bored (do you play with her?), she's still adjusting to your home, she's not use to being enclosed in a house....

No she is house trained as she belonged to the people down the street. Like stated, she was only abandoned a few days before i took her in. She is not at all feral or untrained. I do play with her all the time and so does my family.

she is beautiful! sounds like she is getting near that time....don't count on it being too soon though, the momma I took in was nesting/wandering for at least a week and a half before she delivered. You will know when she is going into labor, she will become more anxious and want your help/reassurance.
