I don't know if anyone here remembers the issue's I've had with my semi-feral foster cat Annie. I've had her for about two and a half years and during that time a number of people have shown interest in her because she's so pretty. But as soon as they understand that she's not just a shy kitty they have not been interested. One lady came to see her about a month ago and said that she was interested in adopting her but I never heard from her again. I knew that getting her adopted was a real long shot and I was starting to plan to get her on waiting lists at sanctuaries. I've been looking for two years and nobody is interested in a cat like her.

How many people want a cat they can't touch regardless of how pretty she is? Not many. But low and behold, I found one! Probably one in a handful of people out there who love cats enough to be willing to take on such a cat and, even better, she and her home is PERFECT for Annie. I couldn't have dreamed of a better fit. It's exactly what I had in mind for her but I didn't think I would find it.

The adopter is a retired woman who is a true "crazy cat lady", like me:). She has four other cats who are spoiled rotten. They even get yearly dentals which I thought was very impressive. Not even my cats get that. She's okay with Annie not wanting much contact with people and is willing to give her the time she needs. There are no dogs or small kids in the home and few visitors and that's perfect for Annie. The lady has had another cat who was very unsocialized and needed a lot of time so she has experience with dealing with fearful cats.

It will be very difficult for Annie in the beginning and I know she's terrified right now. I wish I didn't have to put her through this. But it's a necessary evil to reach the goal of her having a permanent home where she can be happy and comfortable. I know that once she starts to settle in she'll be happy, happier than she ever was here I'm sure.

Even though I feel bad that she's having such a hard time now I'm so happy that she's found a home. It's really a minor miracle.

How exciting for Annie, even though she doesn't think so right now. There are those special homes that sometimes take a while to find but they are worth it when you do.

What wonderful news for Annie! There are already such a shortage of good homes to begin with, but to find a home for a special kitty truly is a miracle! I hope Annie adjusts well and bless you for caring for her and loving her and not giving up on her.

It's great that Annie's found a home!  Your description of the lady who adopted her almost sounds like me.  All of our cats are 'former ferals' and have socialization issues of some sort, but we believe they came to us because we were the perfect humans for them.
