It is the end of the month, and time to cancel my AOL free trial...they may give me some more free service like last time, or they may not. If they dont I will be gone a while. I'm gonna see if grandma can afford our local provider. I WILL be back. If I'm gone I will miss you all untill I return.
*hugs*

P.S: If I dont reply to a posting anywhere on the forum or to emails/PMs then I didnt get my service extended. I'm going to be calling AOL billing later today. I'll post a reply if I still have the service and if I dont I'll post when I have internet again.

Also, I believe Juno and NetZero have free service as well. I know it's limited but you could get on. I also think Juno and Net Zero have really cheap Internet service for unlimited, something like $9 a month or in that price range.

The netzero service mentioned above has a free service available. However these are the things you need to remember, it's limited to 10 hours per month and shows a persistant banner on your screen. It's not the best solution but still keeps you connected for the time being while you try to find another ISP. This is the link

[Edit]I removed the second link, looked kind of crazy

I havnt called yet, because I'm still taking care of some stuff online. I tried NetZero and Juno, but they dont have any local access numbers. Thanks for your suggestions...hopefully they will extend the trial. If not I will miss you all.

YEAH!!!!!! Looks like I wont have to worry about losing internet for another 2 months! They gave me one month free trial and are mailing me a disk for Compuserve with one month free trial and then it's only nine somthing a month for service! I'm so glad I still have service I was gonna miss you guys, plus being out in the country I've not really got much to do. No internet=boredom.

The 30th is the end on my AOL free trial again. If I dont post after then, then I lost internet for now. I WILL BE BACK. It may take some time with Grandma not working (due to the surgery) and me not because working because she needs me to stay home since she cant be left alone. As always, I'll miss you all. *hugs*.

Soooo ummm got get another free trial cd... that used to work... way back when, I had internet dial for like 2 years, for free. Besides, if they didn't want you getting free service, why do they keep sending all those free trial cd's????

I used to have AOL - if you don't cancel after your 45 days
they will charge your checking account and or credit card
so if you don't want them anymore, you should call them
and let them know

Well I'm back....yet again they've given me another free month!!! They are susposedly sending me a Compuserve disk where I'll get unlimited for 9 somthing a month. They said that last time my trial ran out and I tried to cancel!! Oh well...aslong as it's free why should I care??? Guess cause I feel guilty about the free service.
Point is I'll definaltly be here another month...after that it depends on whether or not I can afford it.

I know that's why I say bye to everyone here every month the day I have to cancel the trial.

Whoa! I thought I was the only one!!! I always think it's wierd that they never mention how long I've had free service or anything especially sense they have to access your account before they can make changes.
Everytime it's the same thing:
Them:"Hello my name is _____.How can I make your AOl experiance better?"
Me:"I want to cancel my free trial."
Them:"I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe I can help you."
Then it proceeds to where they tell me that they're gonna give me a month free incase I change my mind.
I say no thanks. They ask why. I say why. They then say to just try the free trial and that I may have a better experiance the second time....It's kinda creepy. I still feel bad about it though...even if it's their fault.

I wont cause I feel too guilty with the free service as it is.
Who know's why they cost too much. There is one benefit though...compuserve is susposed to be about the same price, but AOL has this partnership where I get unlimited for $9 something a month. If I hadnt been a AOL member, it would've been the same as AOL: TOO expensive!!!
