I think once a day is fine, at around the same time.  A flame-point is the US name for a colourpoint pattern with red points.  Suspect that Sheba's blue eyes are a camera artifact as she clearly isn't a colourpoint pattern.

Sheba's eyes look blue to me. . .my Silka has blue eyes and looks almost like that (not as much white and no striping).

I do think the white one will be pointed but probably not red. As the rest of the babies are varying shades of blue I'm going to guess blue pointed :tongue2:. Unless he has a different daddy than the rest of them.

Here are their gains since yesterday at 1.. So 24 hours ago...
Fuzzy +16
Big Spot +14
Little Spot +11
Solid, no white +16
White +16
Silver/Blue +12

The silver blue is finally over 100g, at 108g.The biggest is Fuzzy at 135g.

I think the white ones ears MIGHT be turning a grey color... It looked like light grey when I weighed it, didn't get a great look though, I was trying to weigh them all fairly quick so they could get to eating. So I may be wrong...

No, Sheba's eyes are blue.  She actually is pointed, but in 3 different colors.  She also qualifies as a harlequin calico as she has orange, black and white.

All pointed cats are born white.  It is the temperature that brings out the colors even more.  The cooler it is, the darker they will get, up to a certain point.

The light color on her right cheek and front leg are flame-point.  You can't see them very well.  The camera has an auto flash and there just wasn't enough light without it.

Enjoy the little ones while they are still little.   They turn from kittens to cats so quickly.

To Willowy:  I posted the pics of Sheba because she sounded like she was similar color to Silka.   I believe you are right about the kitten being blue point.

I'd be calling her a tortie point and white. Harlequin's are mostly white with patches of colour. Being multi coloured makes her a tortie, and she is pointed with white.
This is what can happen when genetics go wild and produce a beautiful cat.
Nothing wild about it, torties and tortie points are common. Simple genetics

According to all research I just did, you are correct.  She has enough white on her chest, belly and back legs that she might just qualify for "caliby"  By genetics going wild, I meant that you don't see a lot colored like her.

Anyway, this thread is about Mitten's babies and that is all I will post about in the future.

Not tortico? I've never heard caliby either but I have heard tortico.

Pic of Silka. It's an old pic; she's a little darker now. I understand that pointed cats' dark areas spread as they age:

Anyway, that's what the little light blue one makes me think of. It would be cool to get pics of him/her as a adult and see how he/she looks then

Here's the quote! I have never heard of the term caliby either, but apparently Wikipedia has!

"Tortoiseshell cats have coats with patches of red, brown or black, chocolate, cream, or cinnamon. The size of the patches can vary from a fine speckled pattern to large areas of color. Typically, the more white a cat has, the more solid the patches of color. Dilution genes may modify the coloring, lightening the fur to a mix of cream and blue, lilac or fawn. The markings on tortoiseshell cats are usually asymmetrical. Occasionally tabby patterns of eumelanistic and pheomelanistic colors are also seen (these are often then called "tortie-tabby", "torbie" or, with white- "caliby"). Tortoiseshell also can be expressed in the point pattern."

Wiki is not an authority on anything. Caliby is not a term used by breeders.

I know Wiki is not an authority, or expert by any means- just the first site I found the term used (there were MANY others). But obviously someone uses the term if it is referenced more than once and heard by others. I was just clarifying what she meant by caliby.

That's where I got the term.  I have no idea what to call her except spoiled rotten pretty lady. Or "stop that, you meezer!"

How are Mitten's babies doing?

Three of the kittens eyes are beginning to open today!!!! :D

The other mama Bella had her babies three days ago, they are biig babies! Way bigger than Mittens' babies... Bella also had an all white one... What are your opinions on he or she? Think she is going to be plain white, or what? Here is the link to the thread with pictures: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/244283/some-pictures-of-bellas-babes#post_3204495
