It's always hard for me to describe this cough that I see sometimes in Lucy (sometimes in Sally, too).  It happens maybe a few times a year, but last night, Lucy had it three times in a row after a few seconds break.  I had seen similar videos on YouTube that people refer to as asthma, but the cats don't have it frequently and both do it sometimes.  The vet (last year) when I referred to it thought maybe it was a change in litter.  SO..we've been really careful on the litter that we buy.

Lucy really isn't acting any differently.  She still sits in the window, begs to go outside.....plays, chases the other cat, etc and so on.

This afternoon, while she was on the bed, I saw a clear droplet from her nose.  It wasn't mucous-like....in fact, it seemed very much like water.

I have an appointment with the vet for her on Monday, but thought I would run this buy you guys first.......to kind of reassure me or let me know if I need to take her somewhere sooner.  When she was doing it, I made sure to get a video of as much as I could so I can actually show what she is doing.  :(

Any input would be appreciated!!!

Here is the link to the video in Photobucket:

It could be seasonal allergies, although since both kitties do it sometimes, it could also be environmental, such as from fertilizer or pesticides or other outside things that people use that could drift in from an open window--or they could be exposed to if they go outside. Inside, if you burn scented candles, some kitties can have a reaction to those or cleaning products that you use.

Other reasons:

Asthma and bronchitis

Bordetella (but is most common when there are many cats, not common in a home environment)

Cardiomyopathy

Hairballs

Heartworms

Parasites

Please do let us know what the vet says.

This is a cough.....
IMHO it doesn't look like asthma, nor a hairball. It doesn't have the hacking both of them have. It can be allergies.....
How old is she?
I do not take cough lightly.... Cough was the symptom of Congestive Heart Failure, which quite quickly took my baby girl Gracie. As a rule of thumb, if you don't see your kitty passing a hairball from a cough, please take it to a vet and demand chest x-rays in different angles. It can be nothing, and in a lot of cases it isn't..... especially during this season..... But when it is, it can be lethal.
Here, I made a thread about it - Keep in mind it didn't start like this.... I thought it might be a hairball.... So this was when it was already more advanced. A couple of days later she was diagnosed.
