i'm not sure what kind of cat she is, so if someone can tell that would be amazing. I think shesan American Longhair,  domestic shorthair... but im not sure. She's a little goof ball and the light of my life. I'm Sierra, from Texas 21 years old and somewhat of a crazy cat lady already. Masquerade isnt my first cat, but currently the only one living with me.

My Cats, current and past if you are interested.

the first being a male siamese and something else mix named Curious who lived to 12 years.

followed by a white male cat with black smudge named Smudge who is now 8, and living back in Nevada with my family.

and a Calico named Gracie and her 5 Kittens, she is now 5 and her kittens are 3, all in good homes in Nevada.

Brownie and Kinko are now pushing 11 years old, they are both very large brown and white mixed breeds, brothers.

and then there is,  of course, Orange, now 3 years old, a male orange tabby cat.

Being that i lived in Nevada, i never had much problem with Fleas, Ticks, Worms, any of that. Masquerade is the first i've had give a flea bath to, or even a flea collar. But i treat her as i would my own child, as i did with all my cats over the years, and that is one of the reasons i deceided to come to this site. i am very new to so many of these diffrent things she can pick up in the Texas climate, and could use all the help i can get to keep her happy and healthy.

Many flea collars arent so good. Pure nerve poison to say it bluntly.

So take it of her ASAP, unless you know for 100% sure it is safe and approved by knowleable vets.

Flea bath can also be unsafe, although many are OK.

Use instead for example Revolution, "drop on" on neck once a month perhaps, or even once 6 weeks. Nowadays you can buy it without vet prescription.

Drawback?  You cant have her near an open fire flame up to one hour after the dropping on.  Im not joking, I did read the instructions once.   :)

Why is she named Masquerade?  Does she have a masque, ie is she pointed?

Please show us a couple of fotos on her!

Good luck!

Thank you for the input i dont want my cat to catch fire o_O,

I've posted some picture of her in the gallery =)

Her name is Masquerade because of the black almost mask like coloring on her face, that and my love for Phantom of the Opera.
