Meet Pouncival;  Pounce for short.  When Pounce showed up about a week ago, I thought he was a new neighbor cat, as he appeared fed and healthy.  It's obvious now that he was getting more and more hungry every day.  He was in Lil' Girl's feeding house this morning, licking what little gravy was left from her dog food from the rim of the bowl.  So, this morning he got his own tin of cat food and a name.  :)

I'm going to put his picture up at the corner market and see if he may not belong somewhere.  If not, well then I guess he'll get himself a medial record at Dr, Cathy's and he'll just stay her wit' me and the tribe.

I like that pose. It looks like he came prepackaged with a sassy attitude.

What do you expect? Orange is one-third of calico, and we all know about tortitude!

Pouncival, whose real name is Cheeto, went home yesterday.  I kept his poster up at the store for a couple weeks, and got no calls.  So, 2 weeks ago I took him to the vet for a checkup and...he had a microchip.  But, the address and phone number were no longer any good.  He had gotten out of the house while the family was putting everything in a moving van to move 100 miles from here.  They looked for him till they had to leave, then had their old neighbors keep an eye out.  But somehow, he had ended up traveling the 9 miles from their old house to here.  He's a rambler, no doubt.

Dr. Cathy gave the chip info to the shelter for me, and viola, Monday his humans called the shelter to see if he'd turned up.  So they came down yesterday, had some iced tea, met the Jellicles that were brave enough to come out of hiding, and bundled up little Pouncival/Cheeto and took him home.  The little girl was so happy to see him she was positively bouncy.  :)

Awww, it's great that he's been reunited with his family, especially since there was a little girl missing her kitty. I love the name Cheeto for a red cat!

This says a lot for chipping cats.  Sheba, Sugar and Spice all have chips.  They are strictly indoor cats, including the screened-in back porch but you never know what will happen.  It is good to see a little girl reunited with her friend.

On a regular basis, we have cats (or, more often dogs) show up.  We call the owners, and sometimes we call them before they even know the animal is missing.

We scan every animal that comes in, even the dead ones.

Glad Pouncival/Cheeto found you, and had you to take care of him until his family located him! I bet you miss him though. Well thank you for being so kind. :)

OMC how GORGEOUS!  Of course I'm glad he is reunited with his family.  Must have been a little difficult to part with him, though.
