This afternoon I came across a new feral cat. She looked very old and her fur was matted, and one of her eyes was completely crusted over. She was also limping pretty bad. My heart broke when I saw her. I NEED to help this baby kitty. I have some of Lucky's eye drops and eye lubricant from last month (he had scratched the inside of his eye) would it be safe if I used that on her? And does anyone have any tips on treating leg wounds? This feral is really scared, I couldn't even get within four feet of her. If it is really bad, I am willing to take her to the vet, but I can't even get close enough to catch her! Does anyone have any ideas on how I can catch her? I don't have a trap and I don't have time to get one. Please help this poor kitty :vibes:

Trap her and see if you can get her to a low cost vet or a rescue who could see to her care. She maybe too far gone to save..but if you get her it would be humane

Poor girl - is she eating for you? Perhaps setting up food inside a crate or some enclosure that you could shut her in? I don't know what else to suggest other than wishing you all kinds of good luck in getting her. It's hard to see them suffering so, but so good to hear that you are going to help her.

Sending prayers . . .

Thanks so much for your replies. :rbheart: When I put out food for her yesterday, she ate one can and started meowing at me for more and I gave her some more and she ate that as well. I've named her Betty. I really feel so bad for her. But after she ate, she ran away. My neighbor and I walked up and down the street last night and could not find her. This morning when I feed the ferals, I will try to catch her if she is there but I highly doubt she will be there. How do I get her to come back to this area? Thanks so much for your help and prayers, Betty seems to really need them!

Don't give up just yet. I think the answer to how to getting her back is to feed her. She obviously knows you are going to feed her if she finished one can and asked for another. Keeping my fingers crossed that you can get her.

Did she show up with the other ferals yesterday or come by herself?

I really doubt that she would allow herself to be visible in the neighborhood, particularly if she is in such rough shape.

C'mon, Betty, your friend is just trying to help you, sweetie!

Aw, just fed the ferals and she didn't show up. Yesterday she wouldn't go near the other cats, maybe that's why. Betty :vibes: .

I just got home and I went searching for her and I couldn't find her. (Walking up and down the street shaking a bag of cat treats LOL). My heart breaks for little Betty and I want her back, anybody have any ideas on how to get her to come? She is usually in my neighbor's backyard, but I don't think she is there. :vibes: Still praying for this little girl, she looked so sick yesterday.

I am so sorry about this kitty, Betty. :rub: I just saw this thread and have been out of town for the week. So I don't know IF you have seen her by now. :sigh: She sounds really ill and in need of help. You are doing all you can, really. I guess I will see if you reply here again with an update. :cross: Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is to get them trapped and straight to the vet and let them decide if she can be saved at this point. :cross: Mega vibes for Betty :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
