What Does An Apartment with 4 Pets Look Like?

At work today someone said that my apartment must look like a disaster zone because I have two dogs and two cats in a rather small one bedroom apartment. I thought I'd show you all around my place so you could see that it doesn't have to look like that :)

This is the pet's bedroom, as I call it. It's actually a large closet. This side is the dog's. It has their crate, a few of Fynn's show ribbons, Sadie's CGN certificate and their crate (as well as the mop and bucket, lol).

This is the cat's side, it has their litter box, litter locker and cute bird decals (that I'm pretty sure they've never even looked at, lol). When the dogs are out, the wooden gate (you can see it in the corner) goes across the door so they can't get in but the cats can easily just jump over it.

Here's the living room. In the left hand corner, in front of my desk, is a wicker bed/tower thing that they lay/sleep on/in. The dogs sometimes go in it too. The bed beside that is mostly used by the dogs, but the cats use it too. On the right side is a bookshelf and the cat tree. Sometimes they'll go onto to the second highest shelf, so everything on that one is pushed back far. You can see my boyfriend sitting there and the baby kitteh with glowing eyes beside the chest/coffee table.

And now, the bedroom. There are stairs on my side of the bed for the animals to use to get up. It's mostly for the dogs (the smaller one has trouble jumping up) but everyone uses it. There are still a few boxes in there that I haven't unpacked yet.

And finally, the kitchen/food area. I just did the dishes, so they're piled on the counter, lol, but they're not normally there. And the garbage can isn't normally right beside the fountain either.

I didn't bother taking a picture of the bathroom, lol. If anyone is ever telling you that a small space with multiple pets is messy and dirty, just show them this thread! (It doesn't smell either, lol).

I love it! I hope you don't mind if I share some pics of my place too. I only ("only", heh) have two cats, but I live in a one-bedroom apartment too. They actually advertised mine as a "studio", though the bedroom is its own room.

Main room, complete with kitties (I realized after I downloaded the photo that Daymon had a nice yawn going on... lol.):

The bedroom:

I keep one litter box tucked behind the curio cabinet in the bedroom:

One litterbox in the bathroom:

And the only thing I truly hate about my apartment is how small the kitchen is... (just did laundry and there's always crap piled on my kitchen table...
):

Not at all! The more people share and others see, the more it helps this stupid stereotype.

I wish I could have another litterbox in here, but my bathroom is too small (maybe I should have taken a photo of it, lol) and the only other place would be the bedroom... on my boyfriend's side... that wouldn't go over well. I could just imagine him accidentally stepping in the box, lol. I have to have the steps on my side because he tripped over them when they were at the end of the bed or on his side.

I can tell you that my one toddler takes up a lot more space with her "stuff", and makes a LOT more mess than the two cats!!! :lol3:

Oh I TOTALLY understand. I get that stereotype all of the time because of how many cats we have let alone the fosters. We also have a decent 3 bedroom house, but because of the amount we have, people ALWAYS make comments. People are always welcome in my home however, and I often have people in meeting fosters. All the time I get "Wow, if I didn't see them, I would never even know you had cats! Your place is clean and there is no smell at all!"

Well DUH... That's because I take care of them. I wouldn't have them here if I didn't.
I take pride in my home and I LOVE the cats. Their happiness and well being comes first and I would never have them living in filth!

Well, four animals and two people in a one-bedroom apartment is a bit of a tight squeeze, but it looks like you're managing just fine! I don't see why it would be a disaster zone--just a bit crowded, at most.
