Is there something I can put on Cindy to prevent her from licking a certain spot?

Backgroud:  Cindy had a fairly large cyst on her back sown by her leg.  The vet shaved off fur to be able to see it, drained it, had it tested and she is fine.  However, she licked it until she got a "hot spot" there and we had to put her on antibiotics and tresederm on it for 11 days. It's healing up very nicely, fur is growing back, and vet says it's okay to discontinue treatment.

However, since she has already licked the heck out of that spot, I am concerned she may start to do it again and we end up with another problem. I don't want to keep having to give her antibiotics and she really hates our procedure with the tresederm (we pick her, put her on a towel on the table, put the drops on her, then keep her there for a half hour (for it soaks in) while petting and talking to her.  Aren't we abusive?).  DH says he read somewhere that is something you can put on a spot to prevent licking (that isn't harmful) but he can't remember what it was.

By the way, I just found out she's hiding behind the computer table.  She gave herself away by snoring!

I'm not aware of anything to use in this situation that won't hurt the wound. If you put anything on it that cannot be ingested, she'll get sick if she licks the spot. If you try something like Bitter Apple that tastes bad, I would be afraid to put it close to a wound. If it forms an abcess, you can't bandage it over. I think this is why vets prescribe those neck cones that cats hate so much.

Yes it was a typo.  Yes I meant down.

I will look at links in a minute.

Vet prescribed a cone, but she was so unhappy with it, kept getting her foot caught in it, and Swanie was hissing, growling, and defending his turf from the "strange" cat we brought home from the vet (because she couldn't bathe at all to get the smell off) that we took it off her.  I haven't seen her licking it, and it's healing up really well (not an open wound at all).  I don't really want to put something on it what would hurt either her from licking it or the wound itself.  I just don't want her to get it infected again if she does take it in her head to start licking, because that's what caused the problem in the first place.  I guess the best thing to do is watch and see what she does and how it goes.

I just looked at the links.  Thought about that, I actually went to petsmart and looked at the clothes but nothing appropriate.  Girl there recommended baby clothes.  Cindhy is pretty small and I'm not handy with modifying, but I also thought about doll clothes.  the problem is it's right there like on the top of her leg and I couldn't think what I could get that would allow her freedom to bathe most of herself, and freedom to use the litter.
