So it's been almost 4 1/2 months since Daymon came home, and while I could talk for hours about how the relationship has progressed between him and Holland... I won't.
Instead a simple recap of how at first Holland was very combative, swatting and hissing whenever he got near. Then she started tolerating his presence, only swatting if he got too close. In the past month or so they've started letting each other get very close, sniffing at each other, coming close to actually playing together, and managing to sleep in the same general area without the constant being on guard.
Holland still gets very clearly miffed when Daymon sits on mommy's lap, and if she senses he is about to snuggle with me, she'll jump into my lap, whether she wants to cuddle or not.
A few weeks ago we got to (me trying to take a picture in spite of the laptop...):
I got really excited the other day when I thought they were going to curl up together on the couch, but Daymon jumped down. Then the next night we had a little spat over mommy's lap. Then the next night I could have sworn Holland head-bumped Daymon. I'd started wondering if I had imagined it, but then tonight, Holland (as usual) commandeered the fleece and Daymon jumped onto my lap. I expected Holland to either leave or swat him, but much to my surprise she put her head down and went back to sleep, and I was treated to THIS for nearly an hour:
I knew they would be friends someday!! OK, so we've got a little ways to go until "friends", but they are sleeping while touching each other (Daymon was napping, he just kept opening his eyes because I had the camera)!
