Our 3 week little guy that we took in is now 4 weeks according to the vet. I'm wondering at what point I should stop bottle feeding. He will take a few bites of the wet food, but usually stops and I give him the bottle and he'll take that for a while.

Also I'm feeding him every 3 or 4 hours, but I leave down a tiny bit of wet food, in the hopes that he will eat on his own. He never seems to. Shouldn't I be getting him to eat when I'm not with him? Or should he only be getting formula now anyways?

Oh, here a pic of him crawling on my hubby:

thanks!

You are doing right, it is now the usual time to begin with other food too. the common advice is they shall eat as much as the want (ie as much as they manage to eat!  no real upper limit).  So I would say you can and even should proceed with kmr a couple of weeks.  In bottle or mush up with this wet food.

Mushing in his wet food with formula which he is used to and loves, in one of the tricks of trade here.

the main reason to end with kmr as soon as practically possible, is it is usually more costly than say wet food or even Royal Canine Baby Kitten.

But if you want, you can proceed.  Kittens with mom do usually suckle some well up to 8 weeks, even longer.  Even if they do eat solid and wet food.

Good luck!
