Good morning!

Today is my DH's birthday. He wants to go to dinner tonight and tomorrow morning (Saturday), I will make him breakfast in bed. He always wants French Toast for his birthday breakfast. I gave him two flowering trees for his birthday gift this year. The cats gave him their birthday card, addressed to their "PawPurr".

Sometimes I will make him a special birthday dinner, but with everything going on in the house the past week, I haven't been able to do much....my time has been spent trying to get the house back in order.

How do you like your celebrate your birthday? Does your SO take you to dinner or does s/he cook you a special dinner? What do you do to celebrate your birthday?

My husband's birthday is the day before mine. We don't exchange gifts. Instead we go on vacation and are always away for our birthdays. :). Sometimes if we see something we like while we are away we say that we are buying it as a birthday gift for ourselves. :lol3: The year we turned 40 we were a bit more extravagant. I bought a Coach purse for myself and he bought an elaborate weather weather system for himself. :lol3:

Happy Birthday to your husband. :)

Happy birthday to your DH Pam!

We usually just go over to Mom's for a bbq on my birthday, but this year I'm thinking of having my own bbq/back yard party.

We're pretty low key, but have been making an effort to celebrate a bit more. This year we went out to dinner both days. We were supposed to go to a lodge in Algonquin for my birthday, but there was no snow this year! We're delaying that until December instead.

We usually go out to breakfast and then to a ballgame. He loves baseball, I love baseball... so that's usually what our gift is to each other. :D

I try not to celebrate my birthday, but they keep making me. I HATE my birthday.  I appreciate that people want to be nice to me, but I'd rather just curl up in a ball somewhere, and ignore the day.

DH usually buys a fancy cake, though I say I don't want one--and I'm a diabetic.  He usually makes me banana-pecan pancakes (his idea).  Last year, though, I almost enjoyed the day, but only because he took me to a nice jewelry store, and bought me an expensive garnet/gold/diamond necklace and earrings.  It was a TOTALLY unexpected thing; he had already let me choose some jewelry online (inexpensive stuff).  It was one of the most romantic things he's ever done!  I almost didn't dread my birthday, for once.  As it was over a weekend, it stretched out, as he paid for the stuff Saturday night (to get the next day's sale price), but we had to pick it up Sunday--and went out for burger first--which turned it into another special day.

I really enjoyed it because it was such a wonderful surprise, and I hadn't been in a "real" jewelry store for years; I always buy my stuff on eBay; not that I'm complaining, but it was a thrill to be waited on and to chat with the sales lady--who was the SA who sold us my engagement ring years before!

DH and his family are so sweet to me; MIL calls me and sings me Happy Birthday (a family joke--she can't sing!). DH loves his birthday; he even schedules his vacation week for it! I just go to work, and pretend it's not my birthday.  I hate having to pretend to be cheerful, although I do appreciate all of the good wishes.

Over the river and through the woods...
My birthday (10/16) and our anniversary (10/08) are close enough that we celebrate both together with a long weekend. DH and I aren't much on gifts or cards and we're both so busy that neither usually happen. I definitely DON'T need cake and ice cream or a bunch of people reminding me how old I am. I don't mind getting older, per say, but I really don't want to celebrate it. The only thing I ask for my birthday is a "Happy Birthday" and a kiss from DH in the morning and a looooonnngggg backrub before I go to bed. Now, the anniversary is a different story
 )

Oh, I one thing I refuse to do is work on my birthday. I always take that as a vacation day every year. That's MY day to celebrate (or cry) as I feel fit
