Help! I have found a 3-4 week old kitten, she is a bit skinny, should i allow her to nurse off my mama cat who had 3 babies 2 days ago?

She doesn't appear to have flees or any marks on her skin to show she has roundworms or any other parasite. I really want to help, but not sure what to do. Any and all advice is welcome thank you!

Have you tried to introduce the kitten to your mama? If so..how did it go? Not all mama's like kittens who aren't there own.

I would hesitate to put this wee one in the mix only because you'd be exposing the newborns to "who's knows what".

Coccydia or FIV or FIP.

If she's closer to 4 weeks then she should be able to eat solids and drink water. You could buy some KMR and offer that.

Don't forget..she may need to be stimulated to potty at that age...

Let us know how she's doing!! :)

I would keep them separated.  You have no idea what the stray may be carrying (viruses, parasites, bacterial infections) and the newborns are very vulnerable, plus there is a big difference in age.

Like Levi68 says, your stray kitten should be old enough to start on solids though it will probably like a bottle.  It needs somewhere warm, and ideally a playmate of a similar age.  Your local rescues might be able to help you out there!

I would take it to the vet inext week as well - it will need worming, and a general check won't go astray either.

It's also possible there are some other kittens around from the litter.

I also think it would be best to bottle feed this baby and keep it away from the other newborn kittens and mom cat. Just be on the safe side. And, yes, there might be more kittens :sigh: I would hand raise this little one. Much luck and let us know how we can help  :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
