I am at the end of my rope with my cat!  She has always been allergic to fish, but now I've discovered that she's allergic to chicken, too.  I can't find anything suitable that she'll eat.  I've spent a fortune on foods that she just turns her nose up at.  I just got a bag of venison based dry food and she barely touches it!  Ugh!  I can find canned food - I've been giving her Evanger's Buffalo, Venison and even the beef flavor.  She's fine with all that, but I'm looking for a dry food - she really likes her crunchies and sits next to the dish and cries for her food.  Help!!??

I had some die hard kibble addicts when we switched to canned. I finally got rid of the kibble when we switched to raw. I meet the "I want crunchies and nibblies" need of three of my eight kitties by giving them freeze dried meat treats between meals. You might try that! Whole Life has a wide variety of proteins available outside of fish or chicken: lamb, turkey, beef liver, beef, and venison. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...s=whole+life+freeze+dried&tag=&tag=thecatsite

I know its hard because she sits there and cries, but you have to be 'the mean mommy' and cut out the dry. There's no need for it and it only increases the chances of her having an allergic reaction because there are so many variable ingredients in it. If the 3 wet foods you are feeding are working, then you are very lucky. Keep feeding them until all her fur grows back (and then if it were me), I'd feed her small unseasoned pieces of chicken to solidify that was the culprit ingredient in previous foods.

My cat cried and cried and cried for dry when I was switching him, but I knew it was for his own good and stuck though until we were down to 1/8th cup a day and then toughened up and threw out the whole bag and never looked back. He doesn't even remember what dry food is anymore. :)
