I have a 9 week old kitten named Kevin, who suddenly started limping today when I returned home from work. He had his first vaccinations on Saturday morning, and upon doing some research on here I see that this could be the culprit? From what I've read, it usually doesn't occur until about a week or more after vaccination. Today will only be day 2!! The day of vaccination he was lazy and sleepy, but still eating lots and playing lightly, by the next day (yesterday) he was a little sleepy during the early part of the day but by night he was back to normal (playing like a crazy boy!). This morning before work he was perfectly fine, playing and meowing for attention. Now I'm worried! It pains me to see him this way, he hasn't left his little bed except for a very short little walk to his food which he let out little cries on the way. He's still eating which definitely is a relief, and still wants to play & purr like crazy but without getting up :lol3:

Could this be a result of the vaccine? I apologize if this has been asked a million times but as fellow cat parents I'm sure u all understand the paranoia when you see your little baby this way :( thanks ahead for any insight!!

Well I am not aware of what you read about the vaccine causing a kitty to limp, so I can't really comment on that. Obviously, what most people will tell you to do is to call the vet ASAP. If it is from the vaccine, you will find out from that phone call. However, if your little guy is like any kitten, he probably plays while your gone. He might have hurt himself. Either way, sounds like you need to call the vet. I hope everything is okay. I would be worrying too.

He could have fallen and injured a leg; it happens all to frequently.  Examine them and see if you can see which one is sore, and check it for any signs of injury.  Is there another cat in the house?  If so, look at the skin very carefully for signs of an abcess.

An injury was definitely my first thought, as any 9 week old kitten is very playful and mishevious. I checked out the foot and it seems fine from what I can SEE, he still insists on jumping on to the bed and he is still playing despite the limp. When he puts too much pressure on it he meows a little but has continued to play, eat, etc. He is sleeping a bit more than usual, but seems ok despite the leg. We have no other pets.

The only reason I mentioned the vaccination was due to some posts I read on here saying that some kittens have developed a limp after their first vaccine, due to calicivirus which got me even more worried..
