On Monday April 23rd, 2012, my baby kitty Candy crossed the rainbow bridge. It all began two weeks ago when we noticed she was losing weight. As a precaution, we scheduled an appointment with the vet. They gave her a blood test and an ultrasound, and it confirmed our worst fears - my little girl had cancer. She had lymphoma in her kidney and they couldn't operate. Apparently, it was too far advanced to try chemo, so they put her on steroids and sent her home. I cried for three days while my poor kitty sat there dying. By Sunday night, she could no longer stand up, and was violently getting sick. We assumed it was the steroids, but the vet confirmed that the cancer had spread to the brain, and her kidneys would soon fail. My poor Candy was in so much pain, and the only humane thing to do was to put her down. I know my baby is at peace, but I miss her so much. She was my best friend, and I will never forget the thirteen years that we spent together, because they were the best years of my life.

So sorry to hear about little Candy - I am in the midst of the same emotions right now as I had to put my boy down the day after you on the 24th. Cherish the good memories of all the good times you had together, and know that she now runs happy and healthy again at the rainbow bridge

Keeping you in my thoughts.....

We lost our beloved Rojita to lymphoma several years ago, so we have some experience of that.  As in every case, heartfelt condolences are in order for your loss of your precious Candy girl, who is watching over you, whole, healthy and happy once again, and knowing you will be reunited in due time.

I am so sorry to hear that your kitty passed.  It just doesn't seem fair that our time with them is so short.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I know what you are going through.  My kitty of 18 years just passed away this week.  I adopted her at 7 weeks old and she lived for 18 wonderful years.  While she was old, it's hard to grasp cause it just came on so fast.  We took her in cause she started losing weight and not eating.  In a matter of 10 days she was gone.  She died in my arms and my husband and I buried her in our yard which is comforting.  However, it feels like someone is punching me in the stomach anytime I walk into my house.  I hope you find comfort in your happy memories as I am trying to do as well.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Candy was a beautiful cat.  She was blessed to be so much loved and I am sure she felt that love every day of her life.  Rest in peace, Candy.  You are missed.

Thanks to all of you for your support.
I don't know what I would do without your kind wishes.

I'm still struggling to grasp the reality of what has happened, and I don't think I will ever stop missing my best friend of thirteen years. I think about her every day, and I'm so devastated. I cannot believe that she's gone forever and she isn't coming back.

Thank you again, for your kindness.

And to Candy, you are the best friend I have ever had. You are forever in my heart. Fly free, angel kitty, and wait for me peacefully at the rainbow bridge. I promise I will meet you there one day.
