At Last!!! Come and create a cat page!!!

The beta version of The Cat Pages is finally ready! This means there may still be a few glitches or problems here and there - but it's good enough to release to the public.

So, my dear guinea pigs , here's your special link to the new Cat Pages - come on in and create pages for your cats!!!

Forum members don't need to register - just login using your forum username and password and create as many pages as you like - one page per cat though please.

YAY!!!!!! Now I just have to tear myself away from my new CD burner!

Those of you who create a cat page within the next 20 minutes or so will have it validated asap. The rest - come and create the cat pages and I'll validate everything my tomorrow morning (your evening). Once you cat page gets validated, you get an email telling you so.

Do make sure that picture files are under 30KB - especially the first one. Those over 30KB don't get uploaded and the first one is the one that the system uses to create the thumbnail for your page.

Of course, you can always edit your page and upload different images.

Anne, I keep trying to make a page but it says two of my images are too big. I've made them so very small already, about the size of thumbnails. Is this correct? I even changed the resolution from 150 to 72. It doesn't seem to matter if I take them down to 1% even!

What you need to make smaller is file size - not height and width. Email the images to me (the larger version) and I'll do that for you

I tried emailing you but when I use the "email" link in your profile I can't seem to send attachments. Here they are!

Cat Pages lookin' good. I've just created three without difficulty, was able to view two of them, and been back to edit them, also without any problem.

However, I've also tried looking at some of the other pages and there seems to be a glitch. Some pages display fine, e.g. Mishmish, and others load and then disappear immediately -- Zoey's for instance. Don't know what that means.

In case it's helpful/pertinent, my browser is Opera 7.11, build 2887, running under Windows 98.

Aside from that, though, nice job.

I just went to look at everyone's cat pages. They all look good, and I didn't have any problems.

Thank you everyone for creating so many great cat pages - and for reporting bugs.

There are still a few problems - email notifications appear not to be sent out - have any of you received your email notification when the page went public?

I know that the thumbnail in the search results are not showing properly for all the pages either. I guess that's why it's just the beta version

I am reporting the bugs to the programmer who created the application and he's working on them as we go.

My pages look great! (Sorry about being such a dunce, Anne.) I did not receive an email notification that they were up. Love the music part. Forrest Gump is so appropriate for Joey, as I have always thought he was a bit mentally challenged, and the Vivaldi makes me remember Squirt on that night he jumped into the lake!

I did one page so far , but I don't know how do I get to the cat pages .

Also...when I choose to view all pages, the thumbnails for Snowball, Noddy, and Cindy only show as the dreaded red x.
