Good morning!
My question today is rather related to Chris' (Snake Lady's) question from yesterday relating to debt and finances and such.
Do you have a homeowners' record of what you've done to your house and property? And similarly, do you have a record of items in your house/apartment for insurance purposes in case of fire, theft, tornadoes, etc?
Several years ago, we went through the house with a camera and took pictures of everything in the house and in the basement, everything outside, including some of our trees and shrubs. Everything we could think of. Those pictures are on CDs in the safe deposit box at the bank. Included in that CD are some lists of the items, along with the date we purchased them and the prices we paid. And as we buy items for the house, we take pictures of that item and include the price in a book. We also like to keep track of any improvements we've made to our property as we go. It may not be much, but it's some kind of record that we really do have what we say we do. Just in case we need the information.
And it's kind of interesting to see when we've added things to the house as the years go by. It's interesting, too, to see what we paid for the refrigerator years ago and compare it what we have to pay for a new one!
