FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 26, 2012

Diamond Pet Foods is expanding a voluntary recall to include one production run and four production codes of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula dry dog food. One bag of the product has tested positive for Salmonella, and the recall of the four production codes is being conducted as a precautionary measure.

Thanks for posting this. I was going to post it myself until I saw your post. I got my info from the AP wire and it looks like the same exact story was taken by Thixton and posted on her blog. Spread the word I say! The more that know about the recall the fewer animals will be affected.

Is this just dog food? What about cat food manufactured at that plant? If the dog food could be contaminated, couldn't the cat food be as well?

I asked over at Pet Supermarket, and yes it does include cat food. Supposedly they are going to begin testing Monday and should know more then.

If you guys need to switch your pets off one of the products on the list, I'd really recommend Fromm. I use their food for my pets and have been very pleased. Their products are made in the USA and they have never had a recall. www.frommfamily.com
