Well, today I got the Apple iPhone 4S. I have Verizon and was previously using the Droid Razr, but was not a fan. It was 4G LTE and that was a plus, but the phone itself wasn't what I had expected it to be. However, for what I paid, I was not about to pay out of pocket for a new phone. But, today, due to an unfortunate event, my Droid Razr met its untimely end. And, I walked out of the Verizon store with an iPhone.

So far, I'm loving the phone. I like its size, its weight, and how intuitive it is. And, the screen definition and sensitivity is far superior than even a top-of-the-line Android phone. I do miss the 4G service, but the 3G is adequate and the phone, itself, is fast where processing is concerned. I like the idea of "Siri" and am finding that the voice recognition service is reliable. However, I'm still so new to the phone and to Apple products as a whole. So, I am just writing to see if anyone has any suggestions for me -- be it about the phone itself or about apps and related products (cases, chargers, docks, and the like).

Actually, I'd like to open it up to everyone. There was a thread here once about cell phones, but, instead of reviving it, I think a new thread would be appropriate. What type of phone do you have? Do you like it? Pros? Cons? What service do you use? Please share as much or as little as you'd like. And, I will share more about my iPhone experience as it becomes less of a novelty and more routine. I'm just always interested in individual's preferences where technology is concerned. So, if you're up to it, feel free to chime in. Let's talk phones!

I have a blackberry curve 8520, I love it, I find it so easy to use, get my emails straight to it and most of the apps/themes/ringtones are free. I have had touchscreen phones in the past and I just don't get on with them. My dad has the new samsung galaxy and I do think that some of the aps are amazing but I love my blackberry too much to trade it, I would like to upgrade to a blackberry bold though soon.x

Dana and I both have the Samsung Galaxy Ace and we both really love it. We had the LG Optimus one which was a good little starter smartphone, but the Samsung is much faster. We're with Koodo, by far the BEST carrier we've dealt with as well, excellent customer service.

I'm an Android person all the way, will never touch an apple product.

That being said, I love my Samsung Galaxy S 4G Vibrant- it is pure awesomeness :D Though I would not mind a Droid X

The one drawback is: No flash for the camera, very annoying at times.

I have a blackberry torch 9800. I hate it. It's slow, it screws up a lot and the battery dies very fast. I unplug my phone around 7am, I am in class from 8-12, so not really using it (just on breaks) and its usually dead by early-mid afternoon. Even faster if I try to use the camera. My battery will jump from 40% to 8% within minutes. I really like actual phone (the touch screen with the slide out keyboard). I'm with Bell and would like to switch when my contract is up, but that probably wont happen. I've been with Bell forever and have everything else with them too. My husband worked for them for years and was always getting new phones and I would get his old one or he'd get me new phones with the "points" he got from selling. I miss that.

I want to switch to the iphone, but I am only 15 months into a 36 month contract. Being unemployed and a student, I can't afford to buy a new phone and pay full price. Once I am done school in just over 3 months and (hopefully) get a job I will probably buy one.

I just got my first cell phone since 2008, I think. lol. I was slow. Got an LG Cookie for Christmas, which is my first smart phone...and I am STILL learning how to use it. Not sure how good a phone it really since I have not used anything else to compare it to but it takes great photos and videos, plays music, can draw on it and many more things that my last flip phone did not have. So I am pretty much impressed with it for that alone. I am with Telus.

I have the iPhone 4s and I really like it. I used to have an HTC EVO and I miss how big the screen was. My dad says he misses his Samsung Galaxy S II because he could customize so much on it. I just wish my screen was bigger, but overall the battery and performance of this phone is way better than the one I had even though the EVO was a 4g and the iPhone 4s is only a 3g. I have Sprint and have unlimited everything yay! I don't do much on it, but I do have a lot of games for the kids and they love it!

I'm not interested in an iPhone (or an iPad or an i-whatever)....I don't know, it just doesn't appeal to me.

Both DH and I have the Droid X (Verizon with unlimited everything; we don't want to upgrade because we don't want to have to go with one of their data packages) and gee, we just love our phones. He was rather hesitant to get them; it was me who wanted a Droid from the get-go. But now he's really glad he has his and I just love mine, too.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Spica, I used to love it, now it's only alright. It barely does it's job as a smart phone, most apps don't work on it anymore and I can't get a lot of new ones because they aren't supported (I'd have to root my phone to upgrade the OS and I just don't have the time). It won't even let me play Angry Birds anymore :( I basically can use it to check my email, look at stuff online, check Facebook (sometimes, when it wants to work, lol), make calls, text and sometimes use Google Maps. In August I'll be 2 years into my 3 year contract, I don't want to renew the contract though because I want to switch carriers when it's up (I'm with Rogers right now) and I really don't want to pay $500 for a new phone!

My Dad has an iPhone, I'm not sure which model (maybe 3?). He wants to get the iPhone 4s so when he does that I'll get his old one. I might talk to a friend of mine that works at T-Booth (cellphone store) and see if there's anyway that I can get a new phone without renewing my contract or paying full price, but I doubt it :(

For various reasons (privacy issues, cost, etc) I still have a fairly un-smart phone, the Moto EM330 if I remember correctly.  It has music and data capabilities, but I don't use them because I can do the same thing on my pc and not have to pay exorbitant fees I can't afford anyway.  I use my phone for TALKING.  Period.  So this phone works for me.

Another very satisfied HTC user here. My contract is up at the end of the year, and I'll probably stick with an HTC.

Dh has a Droid.  He had a Blackberry and it broke.  He really likes it.

I had a LG chocolate.  Dd had a plain old cell phone that only took pictures and took phone calls.  No texting LOL.

Well- the youngest inherited my mom's phone in August.  Which was another "relic" as she called it (hers didn't even have a camera).  Mom had hers for years.  We put her on our plan b/c my father had passed away and she didn't want to have to pay for a phone.  Well- my BIL HAD to get her an iPhone (whatever- my mom could really care less for it).  When she moved to her new place that's closer to them.

So at Christmas, the girls got new phones.  They're smartphones- but they were FREE
.  I think they're Samsung or something.  They're happy with them.   They have a small data plan.  Most of the time they're using Wi-Fi at home.

So then dh thought "I" needed to jump on the smartphone wagon.  I was very happy with my "stupid phone"
But I was having some battery issues.  And at that time, dd was still looking at schools and I had 3 college visits in 3 weeks in 3 different parts of the state.  A map on the phone was quite useful.   And looking back now it was a good thing we upgraded when we did- right after I got my phone Verizon decided to tack on the $30 fee when you upgraded a phone.

It's an HTC.  I like it.  Dh gave me a HUGE data plan that I don't even use all of.  I told him he needs to "downsize" my data plan.  I can check facebook on the phone (handy when I'm at work and on break).  Google maps have really been useful, along with navigation.  The downside to this phone is that the battery drains quickly.  If I'm surfing the net or playing games- I can use up all of my battery in 24 hours.  The screen size is decent (for my "old eyes" as the 15 year old says)  I have way too many pictures on there of Sneaky Pie, HollyHeart and Jasper LOL.

I figure I'll embarrass the senior tomorrow and take pictures of her (it's prom night) and put her prom picture as my wallpaper..............

That's what I've got - it's nice and tiny.
Yea, HTCS are nice. However, I'm not due for upgrade for another 16 months...... So.......... Who knows what will be availiable for "free" when I upgrade. IF I even keep t-mobile. I went with t-mobile simply because I had zero deposit with them, but I am thinking Sprint or something will be much better- I just don't want to have to pay a deposit.

I have a Motorola Atrix 4G.  The more I use it, the more I like it.  And it essentially runs on the same software as my Nook Color.  I didn't think I'd get much use out of it, and wasn't happy having to spend the extra for a data plan, but eventually I upgraded the plan to 2GB per month.  I haven't used that much, but it sure comes in handy.  Like yesterday, I couldn't find the bowling alley where Dottie was in a tournament, but it pointed it out to me pretty easily.

I went in and talked to my friend that works at the phone store yesterday, walked out a little bit later with a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I am in love with this phone, it's the best and so much faster than my computer!
