A twist of fate

I discovered this site while waiting on my cat to deliver her litter. I delivered the last kitten yesterday morning. None had survived. I texted my mom to let her know, and just then the woman who sits near her just got news that their daughters cat was hit by a car. Leaving behind 5 newborn kittens. I asked the woman to have her husband bring me the kittens, as I have experience hand feeding kittens. I decided to try and see if Lucy would nurse them.. 5 minutes after putting them in with her, she was nursing and bathing all 5. I decided to test her attachment to them, lemme tell u, I'm pretty sure she cussed me out in cat! These r her babies now, and I love her even more now. She lost babies at 10 am, by 330pm, she was a proud mama of 5! I have some pics in my albums if anyone wants to see!

I wish Lucy and the kittens much health and happiness.  It was wonderful of you to take those kittens in and I am glad it helped Lucy.

This is a sad, yet wonderful and inspiring story! So happy she adopted the babes and that things are going well!

Oh my goodness, what a sad story with a happy ending!

I foster cats and we have one mom whose babies went home last weekend and then another mom with 4 three and a half week old babes. Yesterday we got a call from our foster care coordinator that there was a cat hit by a car, also orphaning 5 two week old kittens. We talked and decided we would take three of them and she would take 2 (she also has a nursing mom). I thought it would be Rowen, who's babies went home last weekend, who would take the orphans, but nope, woke up this morning to see 7 babies in with Kiara, so she has decided the NEW kittens were her's as well!
 

I love stories that end well.  Thanks for sharing.  Congrats, little kittens.  You now have a cat momma and a human one too.

What a sad & wonderful story all in one!     It just goes to show you, there are no coincidences.
