Okay. I posted a while ago that Peekaboo had been throwing up foam and I rushed her to the vet. This was accompanied by a cough she has had for a long while that the vet was not able to diagnose.

We have ruled out allergies, heart problems, and asthma. I also handed over $200 for an exploratory surgery to have them find nothing when they thought she had blockage. She has been treated for a respiratory infection but that was the vet guessing and it only slightly helped so I don't think that was the issue. She still coughs. And it worries me. I caught her on video last night and I am sharing it here. The odd thing abou her coughs is that she stops and looks around in te middle of it and when I distracted her by petting her, it was like she forgot she was coughing in the first place.

Has the vet checked for lungworm? I believe they test the sputum for it.

Have you shown that video to your Vet?  Or has she actually done that while at the Vet's office?  That might be very helpful if they could actually see it happening.

Sorry, I have no idea what it might be..first thing I always think of is heart, but since that's already been ruled out, thankfully, along with asthma, then I'm at a loss.  Hairballs?  But I would think since this has been going on for a long time, you would know if it preceded hairballs.

Heartworm is one possibility (which tends to affect cat's lungs), especially since you're in a heartworm area. It's much less common in cats than dogs but does happen.
