I just went through a VERY LONG and TEDIOUS waiting game for my pregnant female, she gave birth on 4/18 to 6 babies, one of which passed within an hour from a deformity. The others are all healthy and happy and as cute as ever. If you would like to read my thread for a little insight as to how my long experience
with the waiting game was, as well as updates throughout delivery and then updates on the kittens health themselves- this is the thread:

I am used to the waiting from taking in pregnant fosters. With out fail the nights I am convinced they are going to have kittens the don't, and the night I am least expecting it I check on them and they are in labor or having the first kitten. The last one I came home from work to have found her having had them already dry and nursing. No worries the kittens will be here soon enough.

I am going through the same situation! I can not wait for my lovely mama kitty to pop. I wasn't very happy when i found out initially, but now that i can feel the little babes moving around and see them just jumping around inside of her, i can't be happier. Even my tough ole grump of a fiance is getting excited about the kittens. (looks like were going to end up keeping at least one from the litter) hahaha.

@CatNamedPanda- lol yes, I've said that a couple of nights, including last night "this is gonna be the night!" and no kittens yet... Hehe.

@BellesMama She is growing DAILY, every day i see her she looks bigger, her hair around her nipples is now progressively shedding(i am picking clumps of her fur up all over my house) and I've now been able to see babies moving for a week. Her stomach looks to have dropped because now its starting to sag a little bit, but she still doesn't look as big as all of the other mama cats so I expect her to give birth next week sometime. HOPEFULLY She gives birth tomorrow so I can spend all day with her and be with her during labor, because I work full time and I don't wanna miss it. It's her first litter and my first pet pregnancy so I am very excited to go through all of this with her. :]

She is beginning to act a bit strange though, she keeps trying to eat my dogs food (even though her bowl is very much full) and she sits by my front door everyday trying to get out. She also is starting to act like she does when she's in heat and keeps her tail high in the air meowing at me all day long. This is how she's been acting for the last week or so also, is this normal behavior?

@erwinhead- I have heard that cats act as if she is in heat while pregnant, my cat will lay down with her butt up in the air, like she would do while in heat, but what does this mean? I don't know... Anyone else know? My cat also has been waiting by the door sometimes like she wants outside. She hasn't been talking so much lately though... And she hasn't been tearing off too much hair by her nipples, with another pregnancy, I never seen it either with her, but I know a lot of cats do clear off the spots for easy access. Is your mama kitty still looking like a football and also hanging low when she walks? Mine has been for past week I'd say. what is your cats name? Hmm... My cat hasnt tried to eat dog food... That would be a question for someone else. Awww I hope she gives birth sometime that you can be there!! :D it's very exciting. I'm glad that she seems to be doing well.. My cat isn't the biggest pregnant cat either, but she is normally a petite thing. She's given birth last summer, but only one kitten, this time, she is a little bigger, and has a harder tummy! Possibly more than one this time? Last time for her, after this she will be spayed, and we will see if one of the cats from farms near by have a surprise for me this summer! Lol haven't yet, not here anyway, but we will see!

Her name is Bruda (lonnnnng story) but her stomach isn't hard, but i don't know what defines the hardness of a pregnant cats stomach because I've never had a pregnant cat before. We were told she was spayed when we got her and she had a scar on her tummy that made us think that she was, but now to our surprise she is pregnant and will now have to be spayed after the kittens are weaned. And to answer your questions, yes she looks like a saggy football lol. She sticks out on one side more than the other and seems to be saggy. This will be her first pregnancy and i am completely clueless as to what she is suposed to look like based on what she looks like now, so all of this is really just a guessing game of "is she as far along as we/ the vet thinks" and "why isn't she as basketball looking as other cats" lol. I have so many questions!

Oh my... Bet that was a biiig surprise huh lol to find her pregnant when she was supposedly "spayed"!!! I would've been so confused at first! Did you get her from someone, or a shelter? Lol yeah, my Bella's right side sticks out more than the left. Maybe that is where the kits are hiding, or at least 2 of them are on the bigger sides. I have no clue how far my cat is into her pregnancy! Wish I did have a better idea, that's for sure. Please keep me updated with Bruda, it is nice to talk to others who are also playing the waiting game! Grrr... I hate this game! Lol!

Hahah I hate this waiting game also! I talk to her everyday and beg her to just have them already...to bad she doesn't understand me. ahha. And I actually got her from a couple who said they rescued cats, and they seemed reliable.Said she had all her shots, flea meds, and was spayed. She had a small scar with a black line on it that appeared to be a scar from a spay and it even fooled my vet when i brought her in, but turns out now she is pregnant and I'm worried she might not have gotten all the shots they said she got. She only got boosters from my vet because i told them she already had her shots :/ this is so stressful! lol. Do you have pictures of your mama kitty??

It's a game I have played many times before and it never goes they way I think it will!

Example:

Here is a former foster, Livvy, the day I picked her up:

I was so sure she would pop that night. Seriously, the girl looks like she swallowed a bowling ball! I could see and feel babies kicking up a storm. Nope. She kept those legs crossed for 4 MORE WEEKS!

Now, here is current foster, Portia, the day I brought her home:

There was significant speculation over whether she was even pregnant. The vet didn't bother x-raying her because she said if she was it was so early the babies wouldn't show up yet. None of us could see or feel any babies moving and she had no belly. She gave birth about 5 hours after this picture was taken.

Both cats were roughly the same size (about 8 pounds). And, HAD THE SAME NUMBER OF BABIES!

The moral: You just never know. It's so frustrating and I feel your anxiety!!!!!!!

Keep us posted!

I hope your Belle is more a Portia than a Livvy and doesn't keep you waiting too much longer!
