Is she in Labor?

I just received this rescue cat, and I was told she was pregnant, but they weren't sure how far along, just that it was late in gestation. She has checked out my room then go into like a hidden corner/cubby and is constantly purring along with some purring breathes. I haven't even had a change to fully exam her, and now I'm going to try to move the couch to get to her area. It isn't that she seems scared, since she was being really affectionate and acting happy.

She couldn't be starting, could she?

Could be. Or she might just be a calm, happy cat. I would suggest confining her to a small area where she can't hide with her kittens in a dangerous or inaccessible place.
