I always had cats growing up but have never had one in my adult life..so I feel like I am all new to this cat thing! I brought my kittens home at 8 weeks last Wednesday. So far Custard is really outgoing and affectionate, he loves to snuggle and just be around me. Sophie is more of a loner...I'm wondering if that is just her personality or if I can do more to break her out of her shell. She lets me pet her now without pulling away but she doesn't come and find me like he does. Anyhow I'm gonna try and post their pictures...Custard is the tan colored one and Sophie is the grey.

Oh they are adorable!!  I love their names too!!

I got my 2 when they were just a few weeks older than your 2.  Noodles was the first to come jump in my lap and curl up.  Mooch took longer.  But as they grew into their personalities it's actually Mooch who is the more affectionate one (she usually HAS to be on top of me if I'm sitting on the couch.  When she was a kitten it was up on my chest; now that shes like 14lb its my lap!).  Noodles is my "sour patch cat."  She has to sniff you before you can pet her.  And she has to come to you on her terms.  She might smack  you without warning too.  But she can also be extremely sweet when she wants to be.  Or when she is hungry.
So maybe Sophie will becomre more of a love bug too.

They do have their own distinct personalities, but perhaps Sophie is just a little more cautious about her new home and family. They are beautiful kittens and I'm sure you will enjoy having their company. I think the thing with Sophie is to allow her to control how much interaction - you be available and do what she loves to do (eat, play with a toy) with you, but let her be in charge (she will be anyway since she's a tortie!).

Love the pictures! Makes me want to adopt kittens (but my 4 old ladies would have a fit!)
