Honestly, I really wonder about my cats!!
Sometimes they act soooo human!
Let me explain..

Whenever the phone rings, the boys (Spike and Buddy) will run over to the phone and take it off the hook after a few rings! I often come home and find the phone off the hook!

Often I find the bedroom door closed. Now, I live ALONE and I KNOW I leave that door open and the door doesn't swing shut by itself
so I KNOW it's my cats who keep on closing the door. The question is why in the world would they want the door closed!?

Spike would reach out with his paw toward my face/head and try to pull my head down to his level so he could do some nose rubbing with my nose just like a kid would reach out. He does the same while I'm eating- reach out with a paw toward the dish or the fork/spoon I'm holding. He does this even though I REFUSE to give him Any human food (WELLLLL,
Most of the time!)

Pepper would swing her paw/front leg across Zebra's shoulders before starting to lick her so it looks like a friend swinging an arm across his/her friend's shoulders.

I'm curious.. Do any of u have any cats who have human traits like these?? If so, pls share! I'd love to hear these!!

well pamela, i'm not sure abt other cats but my two fellas sure have human traits...boy boy covers himself with a blankie when the storm is around the corner like the way we do when we are cold... and he would always just sleep on the bed and no where else in the night like we would sleep on the bed at night...

meow meow is more cat like with not much of human traits though...

Movin' on up!
Opie tattles on Rowdy and Buddy. Whenever they're getting into something or scrapping, Opie jumps onto Bill's lap and tells him all about.

The little rat even snitched ME out, the other day!

Hi, my cats name is Casper all white male. Casper have human traits and one trait of dog, the dog side when he hears some one or thing wil raise his head and stair torword the sound and  move his head in that direction, then walk  to the door or patio where he hears the sound. I live  alone and it scares me at times but when he staring, I call him he just stand at attention as if he has his eye on a preditor.
  • Human side Casper follows me every where.when I  talk to  him he sit and listen, looking at me as if he under stand, places his paw on my face turn  to the sdie looking directly at me.Often he place his paw on my face an just wachin me.When I'm sick he stays by my side sit and watch me in my face, If I move he moves. He gets under my chest and we sleep, he does that only when I'm sick as if he knows....

My cats like to play "Thing Behind the Door" in the bathroom (Nina will hide behind the door and reach out at Nicolai through the hinge side gap when he passes), so, to make sure that they don't get their little paws caught in the door, we installed one of those door stop levers to prevent it from closing.

As for human traits, Nina will, I swear, say "NO!" when she's had too many kisses. She talks a lot as well, she seems to have a thousand different vocalizations. When she's been naughty, she'll show us her belly as her way of sucking-up.

Hi and welcome to TCS! I have a question about Casper. A lot of all white cats are deaf (and hide it very well). Could Casper be hard of hearing and sensing vibrations rather than actual sound and going to investigate? That could by why he is so intense on trying to figure out what he heard/felt and no hear you calling him. Just a thought to put your mind at ease.

And, believe me, out cats (and dogs) can tell when we are sick and try to take care of us anyway they can, which usually means snuggling up and watching over us. My LittleOne usually couldn't care less about us except at dinner time and bedtime, but if my husband is sick, she doesn't leave his side.

I have always been a firm believer in that there are no "species" traits, humans are mammals, humans are animals, other than being "smarter" if you believe that
 we are all the same

I believe that there is no reason to suggest that animals don't "talk" to each other just like humans talk to one another, and when you think about it, we all just do the same things, in different ways

This is totally my Mom's cat, Livvy. Livvy started in our family with me as a pregnant foster (my first ever). She was sweet but relatively indifferent toward me, but when my Mom would come over she would turn on the charm. My Mom fell in love and adopted her. 3 months later, my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I don't know how but I swear Livvy knew, and still knows. At first Livvy would sleep right next to my Mom but once she lost all her hair Livvy started sleeping on her pillow above her head- just like a hat. When my Mom is napping, Livvy will stand guard. God help you if you try to disturb her because Livvy will let you know that is not acceptable and chase you out of the room. When it's time for breakfast she will go stand on my Dad, but never, ever wakes up my Mom to feed her.

It is amazing the sixth sense that animals have. I read somewhere once that cats and dogs absorb the illnesses of their owners. Dogs will hold onto it, but cats readjust the energy and release it. I firmly believe this as our family dog died at a relatively young age in November 2010 from cancer. That December my Mom had and brain MRI and chest X-Ray that came back 100% normal. In June she adopted Livvy, and that September she was diagnosed at Stage 4, with the majority of the tumors in her lungs and brain. I think our dog had been taking on her illness to the point it gave him cancer, and Livvy came to us as a gift to help her through the healing process.  I believe Livvy came to me so that she could get to my Mom (who has never owned a cat in her entire life). She's the best nurse I could ask for, and I truly believe she is partially responsible for my Mom continuing to do well. She gives her hope when it feels like there isn't any left.
