I always had cats growing up but have never had one in my adult life, I guess I never quite felt sure that I would never move someplace and have to part with my cat. Anyhow I am 30 years old mother of five with one on the way (2 are steps who live in Missouri). I brought my kittens home on Wednesday - they are 8 weeks and I am enamored! I can totally see myself being a crazy cat lady when I am older...lol...and I never considered myself to even be a cat person. I have been already lurking on this site looking for advice on feeding ...so thank you for being here. I decided to go ahead and get two siblings, I figured that was best for them. One is male (Custard) and one is female (Sophie). Custard seems to be like a creamy peach or tan with some slight tabby patterns in it here and there. Sophie I am not quite sure what to classify her as her body is mostly gray. I am going to try to include pictures try not to fall in love :)

They are soooo adorable!!! I love tan colored kitties like Custard! And Sophie is such a pretty girl. I'd say she's something like a dilute calico since she's got the gray, orange and white. What adorable kittens. Such a good idea to adopt two at once, they will keep each other busy!

Very cute little kittens! Custard looks like he's sitting there thinking about what trouble to get into. :D
Lovely that you adopted two at once. They will keep each other good company as they grow.
ETA: By the way, welcome to The Cat Site! :wavey:

Custard is the most daring and affectionate...lindz he is even prettier in person I can't quite get his color to photograph right...he is lighter then he looks in the photo . However I think Sophie may be the bigger troublemaker...she stole a little ziploc bag of stella and chewy's, ripped it open, and helped herself to it. Yeah I think two at once was a good decision, they are not more work really and they love playing and sleeping together.

I'm wondering about kittens coat length...do they stay the same length when they reach adulthood?

They both look to have short hair. They will be short-haired as adults as well.

Custard looks like one of my previous foster kittens, Finn. :)

Oh my goodness, yes they look very alike...Finn is maybe a bit more striped. I swear if I fostered I would end up with 50 cats.

Their fur is just so thick I was wondering if it would stay that way...my cats that I had as a kid I remember always having very smooth shorter hair. Some of the kittens in their litter had long hair, although the parents didn't.

I foster, and that is a very big reason why we currently have 11 of our own!

They look like they might have short fur, but my cat's fur was about that long when he was a baby and now it's REALLY long! I thought he was a domestic short hair but when he got to be able 5 months old, he turned into a little fluffball.

Very cute, looks like a blue tortie & white and a cream & white. Lovely to have 2 especially as they are underage, they'll be a great comfort to each other.

They are both adorable, but I am in love with Custard.  What a great name.
