Question of the Day, Friday, April 20

Good morning!

I'm leaving work at noon today to take some vacation time and a bit of a longer weekend. Rick is leaving this afternoon to bowl for the weekend, so I'm on my own.

So, I guess my question this morning is more for those who are married or in a relationship: What do you like to do when you get some time to yourself?

This afternoon, I'm going to mow the front yard when I get home from work. I love to read, so I will enjoy spending some "flopped on the sofa with a good book" time tonight. Tomorrow morning, I'll take several hours to rip through the house, vacuuming, dusting, etc. I'm planning on cleaning out the hall closet and the bathroom closet tomorrow. Saturday night, I'm going to dinner with some GFs from work, so that should be fun.....margaritas! And then on Sunday, Rick will be back home!

I usually end up doing housework.

Spend some good quality time with my beloved cats, grooming them, playing with them, stroking and talking to them, admiring them!  Reading, writing, looking at my photo albums, watching a good film, and spending time in my back yard, which I'm working hard to make as beautiful as possible.

Be lazy!  Basically read or play on the computer.  If I have a good amount of time I'll get into a craft project too!

I would say spending time on TCS :rofl: Sometimes it is just fun to read threads of interest when I have extra time. Other than that, I love to read - mostly about cats :lol3:

I'm on my own tonight!  I love being with DH, but I do enjoy alone time.

It usually is on Saturday night, so Celebtrity Ghost Stories is on TV on Planet Green, so I like to watch that--I don't necessarily believe all of them, but I enjoy the "scare factor" while being alone. Kind of  a weird "luxury", I know!

I often curl up with a cat on the sofa, and read.  When DH is here, it's usually too noisy to concentrate on a book, even though he's in his den upstairs.  He watches comedies, and laughs so loudly that it startles me.

I also savor having the house immaculate, and the dishes done.  Of course, all of that must be done by me, earlier in the day! Funny how the house stays much cleaner when it's just me...

I also sometimes go on a shopping spree--really more of a "window-shopping spree", though.

Well, the house is spotless and I was in bed and sound asleep last night by 10:30 (geez, I'm getting old; I remember when I used to be up half the night). Kids had me up bright and early this morning, so after I gave them breakfast, I started in on a bit of laundry...need to do a load of bed linens and a load of cat stuff (pillow cases, kitty blankies, things like that). Just got back from my walk and am drinking a cup of coffee. I plan to get to those closets today, but I think that might be all I'm doing.

We didn't go out to dinner last night. I really didn't feel like it and the weather was rainy and yucky, so we all decided to stay home. I grabbed my Nook and joined the cats in bed.

I was thinking about doing some shopping this afternoon (a window thing at the mall, more than anything), but we're in for more rain and wind.

And Rick will be home tonight! I'm glad when he goes, but I'm always glad when he comes home, too!
