Got an interesting call at work today (call center humor)

Some of you know I work in a call center and we all have stories to tell. I had one today that literally left me speechless. It went like this:

(me) Thank you for calling...yadayadayada.... how can I help you?

(caller) Hi, I'm an executioner and I would like to report a death.

*long pause*

(me) excuse me?

(caller) I'm the executioner of the estate and I'm calling to let you know he's dead.

(me) Oh, so you're the executor?

(caller) whatever, same thing, anyway....

Now I do have to explain that my contract does have to deal with death benefits which is why I put 2 and 2 together, but the opening really threw me for a loop! After I got over the thought that I was talking to the Grim Reaper, I kind of got a chuckle out of it, in a strange, morbid, sick kind of way. I just hope he isn't referring to himself as the "executioner" to the family of the deceased.

LOL. Funny how one slightly mispronounced word can totally change what is being said. 

working in call center myself, I can totally relate. Now that I am in quality control, listening to calls, I expect to hear some really funny ones. Never heard someone refer the themselves as the executioner though.
 

That's a good one! Teaching ESL, I hear a lot of bloopers - so much gets lost in translation.

OMG Executioner the same thing as an Executor :rofl: I guess that is one way to collect on an inheritance. Kill two birds with one stone
