Tuesday Diego either got into a trap,or hit by a car,or maybe attacked by something, I guess we will never really know....but he had a massive cut in his leg, you could see bone and tendons
The Vet game him a shot of antibiotics that would last 14 days.... and pain pills...he was doing fine Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday afternoon it all went downhill fast...

I knew by 4:00 he would not last much longer, he would throw himself in the litter box and howl..but he was able to go to the bathroom...and he was breathing funny, then a few hours later his breathing got very gurgley, and fluid was coming up out of his mouth...i left for a few seconds and then went back to see how he was and he was going....it was not peaceful at all
i just sat there and rubbed his head till it was all over :*(  His lungs filled up with fluid and his kidneys failed :*(

I guess we will never know what happened to him, but at least his is no longer suffering :*( This is him when he was alive  and well...

THIS IS HIS LEG :*( :*( :*(

I am so sorry for your loss. I am especially sad that Diego suffered in the end.  Now, he is happy & free, playing on the other side of Rainbow Bridge.

I am so very sad to read this and see those photos.  Know that he is free now, and that he is safe and Protected always.  Please, if you have other cats or if you adopt other cats in the future, be safe and keep them indoors only.  They are much safer, healthier, and generally happier indoors.  Thank you.

I am sorry for the loss of Diego.  He was a beautiful cat.  It sounds like maybe he had some internal injuries too.  Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.  Rest in peace Diego.  We are so sorry for your suffering, but now you are free.

Diego looks just like my George who I had to put down yesterday. I am sorry for your loss, as I know the feeling all too well. Rest assured that Diego is no longer suffering - maybe he and George are playing together on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Peace to you.....
