Help please. My cat is full term and has started leaking a rust colored fluid and some stringy mucus. Is she ok? I'm assuming its the beginning of labor but I haven't had a pregnant cat for over 20 years, and I don't have the funds for a regular vet. I'm calling the ASPCA to see if they can see her if necessary. Any guidance would b appreciated.:rbheart:

The stringy mucus is her losing the mucus plug- which is a beginning sign of labor. It's also natural for them to show a little bloody discharge and lose their waters before labor as well. If the blood is really thick or dark then that's a sign of something wrong. But to me, sounds like you'll have kittens within the next 24 hours or so!! You never really know though, my cat showed a little bit of mucus a few days ago and nothing yet
Good luck!!
