Tiva was born on 4/20/11 to a feral calico i'd been trying to catch for about 2 years to spay. She had the litter under my next door neighbors porch, and was accessing the kittens through a VERY SMALL hole. There was absolutely no way we could get them out. Week after week i'd follow her hoping for some sort of access to them with no luck. Then one night as I was sitting at my computer i heard the cat door flap and turned around, there one of Tiva's littermate's sat underneath my table looking wide-eyed and terrified. The feral momma brought back the other three one by one- a litter of 4 beautiful kittens. 8 weeks old, all hissing, no socialization at all, scared to death. Tiva was definitely the most scared and feisty out of them, hissing constantly as well as scratching and biting while the other's would kind of just go limp when you'd pick them up. Luckily her bringing the litter to us also allowed us to get a little closer to momma- and I was able to catch her and get her spayed so this was her last litter!!! Eventually we found homes for 2 of the kits in the litter, but no one was interested in Tiva, or her brother [Indy]. People wouldn't take Tiva because she literally hissed at everyone and everything. To this day she's still the only cat who has ever disliked my dog, she still hisses and goes after him. About 3 months ago I made an appointment to get her spayed, and got her in the carrier. On the way out to my vehicle she was FREAKING OUT meowing and thrashing, and eventually pried the top of the carrier from the bottom. She escaped and stayed away for a good few weeks, only coming 'round to eat and never letting me get within 10 feet of her. Sadly now she is pregnant, and due literally any day. The pregnancy, however, has turned a new leaf in her and she is now very much more affectionate and calm. Hopefully this will stay after she has given birth. After the kittens are weaned from her she will be spayed immediately.
