What a GREAT site !!!!!
Ever since rescuing my medium-length domestic cat (I think he's part Ragdoll) from the Oregon Humane Society, I've been searching for a site similar to this.
I rescued Bandit during one of my many assignments in the West Coast. Though never really a cat person, I have grown quite fond of him. (He was a member of a litter that was found outside a restaurant prior to being in the OHS). Actually, I was going to pick one kitten that had a gorgeous gray fur, but he was quite sedate. He didn't even want to play with me when I had him in those isolation rooms. I wanted a kitten that had energy and personality, so I returned the gray one back to the playroom with his mates.
Then, I saw a black and white 5-month old running around, chasing, jumping and being a total terror among his playmates. During one of his episodes, he accidentally bumped his head on the door. He sat up and was dazed. For some odd reason, I told the society worker "let me see that one with a probable knot on his head".
I took him in the isolation room with a toy. He was SO intent on grabbing the thing, stalking it every which way and generally being an outgoing and amusing kitten. First, I thought, "He could be more than I can handle" but thought long and hard about my decision.
Ten minutes and $150-less later, he was riding home with me.
Anyway, I could go on and on, but this is what The Bandit Boy, Bandicoo, Bandie, Trouble, etc., etc. looks like:
