Good morning

Sorry this is a bit late.

I went 5-pin bowling last night with some friends and I started to think....

Have you ever gone 10-pin bowling?

I tried it once years ago.  I don't know of any 10-pin lanes that are open near where I live.

I played it in grade 11 gym class. I sucked at it, but want to give it another try. There is a bowling alley here where you can get a "triple play" which includes 1 game of 5 pin, 1 game of 10 pin and a game of mini golf. It's less than $10 for students and less than $15 for adults and they send out discount coupons all the time. We are planning on going some weekend when we have some extra money.

Is this a Canadian/UK thing? I've only ever seen 10 pins when bowling. . .

I haven't been bowling in ages. I used to go once or twice a week when I was a teenager. Couldn't ever get my average over 125, though.

Done 10 pin but they closed the last 10 pin place that I knew of a long time ago. Used to do a lot of 5 pin at one time - lots of league play. Learned from one of the best in the province.

Tiger, I think the nearest 10 pin for you or me is in Plentywood.

We only have 10-pin bowling lanes around here, too. Rick has been on a bowling team now for well over 30 years. They're not the greatest team in the world, but they have a lot of fun. I think they did win the league title once or twice. They're going to the States conference this weekend. He'll be leaving Friday afternoon and coming back home on Sunday. He really enjoys bowling.

I was on a 10-pin bowling league for a few years. I loved it (and miss it!) Wasn't GREAT at it, my average was about a 132 when I stopped going in December (due to the personal drama/issues in my life) and my highest score ever was a 191. I went again for my birthday this year with the BF (who's also been on a league) and showed him up :lol3:

I've never seen anything less than 10-pin bowling here, but have heard of 9-pin bowling leagues.
