Happy Friday, the 13th!

What's your favorite scent?

I have two favorite scents. One is a freshly opened bottle of bourbon vanilla. There's something about vanilla that is so comforting to me. Vanilla is one of those things that actually smells better than it tastes....I think so anyway.

The second is the first burst of lilacs in the spring. I dearly love the smell of lilacs. We have two lilac bushes at the west end of the house and when the buds open, I throw open the windows on that end and let the scent waft through the house. It's intoxicating and I just love it. The cats will sit in those windows, too, and lift their noses up as they smell the lilacs.

Another vote for vanilla here, followed by any kind of berry scent. Lilac bushes send me into sneezing fits as soon as I get within 50 yards of them.

VHT (stuff they use at the drag strip ...) and burning rubber from burnouts. The smell of new books. Spring time.

I agree --- freshly mowed grass, lavender --- and I'll add "gardenia" ---- sometimes gardenia is overwhelming, but in moderation its great.    Also Roses!!

Lilacs for sure!!  We haven't gotten around to planting any here yet.  I want to get the Bloomerang kind that are out to try to get more than just a couple weeks of them a year.  My only concern is we already have enough bees and wasps out here.

After that I love like feminine musky scents.  I'm not sure how to describe it.  The perfume I wear (when I actually wear some) is called Lovely and that's about what I'm talking about.  Not something overly masculine or woodsy.  I also like the Japanese Cherry Blossom or Moonlit Path body splash scents from Bath & Body Works.  I have a few candles in scents like those.  But Sometimes I change those based on my mood.  I seem to be a season ahead.  Like now I am wanting some tropical scents in the house for summer.  In winter it was spring, flowery scents. LOL

Where to even start?  Vanilla, definitely.  Sweet patchouli.  Sandalwood.  Neroli. Lotus. Sage.  Juniper.  Those are just the beginning!  If I had to choose only one, I'd say Sandalwood.
