Hello everyone:

I miss this group so much!  I have been very stressed lately, because of my kitties, the situation with Flaqui and Fuzzy has been driving me crazy. Thank God Fuzzy is getting used to the house and I had to take him outside with supervision of course, and he is getting to know the yard and he is happier, you can't change a kitty who is used to go  outside, he needs it.

Ok , about Lucas, it seems like my stresses has been affecting him,   he is worst than ever, he has pulled all the hair off his back, all of it.  His belly is completely hairless and red.  The stress remedy the vet presscribed is no longer working.  So I decided to stay away from him so he won't be affected by my stress, he is sleeping with my mom now, she is a very calm person and being with her seems to be helping.  He has been sleeping in her room for two nights and he is not as bad and he was.

It is sad that I'm the one causing him stress.  I need to be ok so he can be ok.  It is just hard because Fuzzy has been breaking things in the house and if it was my house, I wouldn't care, but is not, so that is stressful for me.  Hopefully things will get better soon, but for now my Lucas is sick and that makes me so sad.

I'm so sorry about Lucas.  So, did you move in with your Mom, or what?  Sorry if I should know that, but I can't remember.  I know you moved, but don't know the reason for it.

Do YOU take anything for your stress?  Or do yoga or anything to help you calm down?  You know, stress is not only bad for Lucas, but for you also!

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: I'm so sorry Tammy. I'm glad he's doing better with your mom though! I think Sally's recommendation for Yoga, or breathing exercises is a fabulous idea. :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

I also second the yoga suggestion, as well as meditation.

I know you are in PR but If you can find a Buddhist temple near you, try asking the monks to teach you how to meditate. They're extremely kind and friendly people and they don't require you to believe in the spiritual aspect of Buddhism to be taught meditation, they're just happy to help people. Meditation really helps me relax and clear my mind at the end of a hard day.

I live with my Mom and she bought a house.  It is a beautiful new house and we are happy in it, but it hasnt been easy on the kitties and that is what stresses me out.  Things are not too bad, but still, stressing, I was covering the new furniture every night because I was scared of them sca\ratching them, but thank god they are not doing that so I don't have to cover them anymnore. My mom has been super patient and sweet through all this, she loves my babies, as i said, she is even letting Lucas sleep on her bed.

I just want to catch Flaqui and I haven't been able to do it, I go everyday to feed her and I finally found a bigger carrier so I will try catching her during the weekend.  I know once I have her with me I will be ok and we will all be ok.

Thanks for all the suggestions for relaxation, I greatly appreciate them:)

Tammy

Hi Tammy, I am glad to see your post because we are always here for support :hugs::hugs::hugs: Yes, moving can be very trying and stressful on both us and the kitties. I think once you do get Flaqui back home, then you will be less worried and then so will Lucas. It sounds like you just need do not only care for the kitties but for yourself as well. I like the idea of exercise to relieve stress or getting out to take walks in the fresh air. Your mom sounds really kind to the cat's. I am sorry to hear about Lucas. Hang in there, hun, and keep posting, it might help to just talk about these things with us!!! :D :hugs:

Thank you so much Lauren, your words always help.  Lucas is still doing poorly, I might need to take him back to the vet.  I don;t know what to do to help him.  Sometimes I get all confused and I start wondering again if the vet is wrong and it is the food what is causing this , I don't know what to think anymore.

I will start a new thread with some questions I have.

hugs, TAmmy

I completely understand how "crazy" it can make us when one of our babies is just not well. It is such an incredibly hopeful feeling when they start to get better and recover only to crash back down and become sick again. It is so hard to understand and even harder to see them going through these painful episodes. I hope in your other thread that someone will come along with a suggestion for your Lucas. BTW..... if you will.... how is Lucas doing diet wise? I know you still wonder and worry that his diet might still be influencing these flare ups. Sometimes, I wonder with our babies IF we will ever truly get an answer. :sniffle: Just loads of hugs for you and rubs for Lucas tonight. :hugs: :rub: :hugs: :rub: :hugs: :rub: :hugs: :rub: :hugs: :rub: :vibes:

thank you Lauren.  Lucas is eating Natural Balance green peas and duck and green peas and salmon canned.  He loves them both, but the diet is not helping at all.  Sometimes I think it is the food, but then again , he did got better while eating it and he has been very stressed.  But I always have doubts about it, you never now and that is awful. I was thinking that maybe if the vet could prescribe something stronger than the homeopatic medicine for his stress, I could really see what is going on.  If he gets better with a medicine to control his stress then I will know it is stress and not the food.  I'm just at the end of my rope here.

hugs to you and your babies!
