I got some Natures Variety Instinct grain free food for Parker. I grabbed a few flavors that he's never had before. One was venison.
When I opened the can, I noticed little white flecks on top. I thought it was mold or something, but when I dug into the food, I noticed it was all through it. The date is for 2013 and it didn't smell bad but I've never gotten that flavor before and was wondering if those flecks are usually in there.
I tried to find a picture of the food online but only got the cans. I guess they look like they are suppose to be there. lol
Might be a dumb question but just wanted to be sure.

They sound like little pieces of fat to me. I've seen that i wet food before, doesn't seem to bad.

Yes, I buy this brand, and that is normal (not only in the venison flavor, but other flavors too.) It is just coagulated fat, similar to what happens when you cook bacon and let the grease sit and solidify.
