Here's the latest kitty to find me - initially discovered by my neighbor trying to root through the garbage cans. She's very sweet and was severely dehydrated. She's also front declawed and, would you believe, not spayed. Now named Lacey, she's an estimated 2-3 years old and in good hands at the rescue where I volunteer.

Wow, she is so beautiful! I'm STUNNED a vet would declaw without spaying?!?
I'm sure she'll have no problem finding a forever home.

She's a perfect match for "Dickens," who was apparently abandoned at an apartment building.  I paid for him to be neutered on Thursday, and he was adopted on Friday!

How do these beautiful cats get outdoors?

HOW THE
CAN SOMEONE DE-CLAW there cat and then dump them in the street, not to mention you are going to pay to have them de-clawed but not alter them? That makes no sense, I am glad she found her way to you, she is beautiful, she looks like a Siamese mix.

I have heard of this but not often.  How do you know she is not spayed?

So have we, unfortunately. She has no spay scar or tattoo (used by both of the local spay/neuter clinics and area vets) and is currently in heat.

She looks so much like my sweet Tater Sue when we first met at the shelter.  You could see that she had been through quite a trauma,  but the light of her sweet and curious spirit was aglow in her eyes.  I might recommend a quiet home with someone who has much time and patience to slowly help develop her trust?  It's really something when they realize that they are safe at home for good.
