I've been hanging around this forum for a while but have been using a borrowed laptop.  So, I wanted to wait for my own computer to deal with my photos and make a formal introduction.  (Because what is an introduction without photos, right?)  I still don't have access to all my photos but my avatar shows our three sweet 1 1/2 year old cats.  I'll tell you a little about each...

Emily (dilute tortoiseshell) - born to a feral colony behind our vet's office.  She got major cautious genes from mama (mom has evaded TNR attempts) but was finally trapped as a young kitten.  After a three day downpour I guess she gave up the fight and allowed herself to be captured.  She lived at the vet's for months until we adopted her at 6 months of age.  She was our first ever furry pet and blossomed in a major way at our house.  My sons were 5 and 7 at the time and I'm proud of how good they were with this shy girl.  The vet has since said they were not sure how Emily would do in a home.  She has done great and loves the two kitty brothers we have added.

Eko - (pronounced "echo"....named after the character on Lost)  Eko was abandoned on the front step of the vet's in a box with his littermates.  We met him and his brother (the only two left) when they were 4 months old.  They were playful and cute but we really thought Emily (described above) was the cat for us.  And we had no idea at the time that we would become a multi-cat family. We adopted Eko about 2 months after first meeting him when we found out he and his brother still needed a home.   Eko is snuggly, sweet and mellow (with the occasional bursts of kitten crazy you would expect from a one yr old cat.)

Leo - About 6 weeks after adopting Eko we thought, "Maybe one more."  Leo was saved from the shelter just days before being put down.  His foster mom founded a rescue in her town and was the one who saved Leo.  He is the most delightful, loving light orange tabby.  I think he has more kitten in him now (at age 1 1/2 years) than he did the day we adopted him at 4 months.  He loves Emily and Eko and they love him.

We became instant cat people after adopting Emily and are thrilled with the move to a multi-cat family.  In the year and a half since we started our cat family I have enjoyed reading a ton about cats and participating in cat forums like this one.  Glad to be here!

Welcome to TCS!  Lovely cats, and so nice of you to adopt them.

I take it from your username you are here in TX.  We have a number of members here, as you might guess!
