I just can't believe this is the same cat that used to take 3 vet techs to hold and even so it was impossible to pill!
Bugsy has come a loooong way
Surely, he has been taking daily pills for a while now.... so it is second nature for both of us - as you can see on the video, none of us is stressed anymore, which helps tremendously.
IMHO, stress when pilling a kitty is the #1 problem. The cat is the second :lol3: Nah, just kidding.
A cat bag for a long time was a MUST - and I still have one around for Hope.
Bugsy's is not used anymore, unless I need to give him injections, and even so I would try to give it without it

In case you are wondering, this is the piller I use: Buster Pet Piller The great thing about it, is that it shoots water with the pill, so it helps with the swallowing. Before I used to pill and then syringe a bit of water afterwards. Now it is all done at the same time. The downside of it is that it doesn't work too well for pills..... it is better for capsules. So..... I just put a pill inside of a gel capsule before pilling.
Sorry for the quality of the video - just used my phone :hide:

Isn't he SUCH a good (and cuuuute) boy?

I have only just learned how to pill a cat recently after my kitty's surgery -- and it is not easy! However, you have given me hope that it might get easier with time
A pill popper that shoots water with the pill seems like such a great idea -- I am definitely going to order one. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, that pill popper is really great, I love mine.....
Here is what it looks like:

As you can see, there is a wider compartment for the water - you draw the water just like you would with a syringe..... It really helps with their swallowing and preventing irritation on their esophagus as well.... You always should give them some water or a treat to eat after pilling; this piller just makes it a one easy step.
I love mine - it is quite long lasting and works like a charm!

:lol3: Look at Bugsy. He's so chilled out.

I tried to look at his pics on your profile, but I can't seem to tell him and the other white cat (Hope? Lucky?) apart. :lol3:

Perla has teeny ears too. OH he is just SO DARN CUTE!!!!! Bugsy knew what was coming and he didn't even flinch. He just sits there staring at the camera :flail: I love it :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: Great piller too

:clap::clap: Isn't he the cutest thing ever?
Yes Lauren, he is good like that..... My baby Bugsy..... My little goat with his tiny ears :lol3:  :heart3:
Every night at medicine time he is usually sleeping close to me.... So I wake him up gently telling him it is medicine time (apologizing profusely :lol3:) - I hug him, walk around with him on my lap for a little bit telling him it's ok..... Then I sit down with him.
I Always tell him I am doing this for him to get better :heart3: - I know, I know I am talking to a cat :doh3: but I feel it calms him down
I don't do anything behind his back, as I want him to see what is coming and be ok with it - and as you see on the video, he is

This, of course didn't happen overnight.... He used to be impossible to pill :thud: Thank goodness for my cat bag!

Anyways, Mike, I got the piller on Amazon.... It is cheap, shipping is expensive though.... somewhat.... The whole thing comes up to about $8 - not too bad.... and SO worth it! I have been using mine daily for at least a year, and it is not even close to giving in - It is quite long lasting
