I thought I would start a new thread. All the kitties I had trapped have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated and given health check ups are now on several different farms. The vet even said one of the friendlier ones ended up becoming a house cat instead of being "put to work" in the barn!!
For a week so far I have not caught anything... It is very discouraging because I know my horrible neighbor has his traps out, too. But, last night I did see an orange tabby, probably male. He was playing. I think he might be too smart and be setting off the traps but not getting caught.
I don't want my neighbor to get him so I decided since no organization or lawperson will help me, I need to take matters into my own hands and I had a heart to heart with the guy. He made me sick with his "Well, my solution is a permanent solution. Cats are pests, girl, vermin. No one needs a cat!" I bit my tongue as I felt an argument at that time was not a way to win any battles. So I just kindly asked him to remove his traps for the time being and let me take care of this. I told him that it's not the cats' fault. It's the hoarder girls fault. He agreed and said that he'd remove them this morning and anything he had in them, he'd hand over to me rather than kill them.
A battle won but not yet the war.....
