Miss Molly (age 11) is having her annual vet visit tomorrow. . . .
Normally I wouldn't make a big deal of it. . . . but it's my first time back there since I lost George
It will certainly stir up my emotions again. . . . especially since it's with the same vet

Oh Laurie that is a bit nervewracking. Would you feel more comfortable with a different vet? Although I'm sure Molly will be fine though. There is not much to Annual Visits
Will she be getting shots?

I like this vet. She and I bonded when George was chronically sick. She's done Molly's last few annual exams.

Molly will be having shots. . . . they usually are staggered (not given every year). She's had reactions in the past so usually gets antihistimines too.

I had a scare at last year's check up. She had some blood work which worried the vet about cancer (I think her calcium level was high if I remember correctly). She had some additional tests to double check things (thyroid & kidneys) which were fine (much to my relief). Fingers crossed that she gets a clean bill of health. I'm still recovering from George's bill's and tragic end.

Laurie, I'm full of anxiety anytime I have to bring Spike into the vet, even for routine checkups, and I haven't gone through what you recently have. It's understandable that you may feel uneasy about returning there so soon with Molly after losing George so recently.

I'm sure everything will be fine with Molly though, so try to keep calm.

Jenn said exactly what I wanted to say, so I'll ride on her post, and keep my fingers crossed for a clean bill of health.

I'm sure Molly will be fine. ((HUGS)) to you both, I can understand how going there again can stir up memories. Just take a couple deep breaths. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, everyone.
Molly's appointment went very well.
Not a single meow out of her. . . . on the way or there.
She's such a good girl.

The vet said that Molly is getting old

But her health seems good. . . . not many teeth left (I already knew that - she started losing them at a very young age). She only had to have her rabies vaccine today (every 3 yrs). The vet said she doesn't need any more vaccinations beyond rabies at this point in her life.

The bill was only $37. What a pleasant surprise!

Phew.

The Staff all asked me how I was doing. They were happy to hear that I adopted another cat.

I'm glad everything went well.
Beau is due for his check-up and rabies shot next month. I take one cat to the vet in in the spring, the other one in the fall.

Glad it went well too! *Big sigh of relief* That's good, I can never seem to come out of even a routine vet visit without at least a $200 bill, but that's the cost of being here.
